The best handling springs I think would be between the TRDs, the H&R sport or the Vogtlands. They don't drop much lower than 1.5" (lower ruins handling), and the spring rates are good. I would do TRDs or Vogtlands. With some Koni Yellow shocks, that would be a good combo.

Currently, I'm running Koni 'yellows' (on sale at Tire Rack!) with Eibach Sportlines. I finished #3 in Chicago Region SCCA - ST class with this setup in my xA.

The Sportlines, by themselves, gave about a 2" drop.
Combined with the Konis, the ride was transformed. Not a lot of fun on washboard Chicago-area highways, but I'm very happy with the handling.

For 2010, I'm giving up a little streetability & going with H&R Race springs. I'll let you know how that turns out.

Oh hey, I remember that thread. I posted an avalanche of information into that thread, glad to see people still benefitting from it!

Now your question is a little vague as it doesn't take into account the many different things that your suspension will be tasked to do. Is this a track/auto-x only car? Do you want to continue to drive this on the street comfortably? Are you running stickier tires? Better brakes? Any other suspension related mods?


I haven't used them personally, but if I were aiming for springs only (and from what I'm guessing your goals are) I'd grab a set of TRDs and be happy and done. They will lower you within the limits of our suspension geometry and still have a nice spring rate that won't explodey-time your shocks. Also, you're going to still have a nice ride on the street for the going to/from the track. :)

I would sugest Eibachs or Progress, and a Progress rear sway bar, along with a front sway bar removal.
