Default My 2006 Automatic Scion xB Zero to Sixty MPH (0-60)

Thought it would be interesting to find out how fast an auto box is 0-60. anyone else wanna share their 0-60?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxUgmHqy1vg

My question is, what would it be full manual with a nearly empty gas tank.

you might wanna try going down a very steep hill

maybe that hill that leads right down into the stadium?
it's been 10 years since I lived in San Diego, so
I forgot the street name

btw nobody would buy an automatic xB to go fast
though I did like the sound or your engine

And since the speedo is off and actually reads higher than the real speed, he is still trying to get to a true 60 mph

come on it is a box

At least you can go pedal to the floor on the Scion without worrying about the engine giving up on you!

Hey in a manual xB it takes 3 gears to get to 60mph. You could shave off a few tenths if you power brake it at the start,

well, im sure that is terrible for an auto tranny, yet it might be something to check out for the future. and yeah, it would definitely shave some time from dead stop.

hahaha, very true frog box, but since there is only one speedometer in the car, its the only way to document a 0-60...

yes! i would love to know. but i used the video to time my 0-60. i did not have a stop watch with me in the car. you will be more accurate using an actual video with time codes, than a stop watch. Although, lemme know what you get, love to know. is you intake cold air, or short ram?

Driving an automatic box, nearly anyone driving a rear wheel drive will beat you. Nearly everyone driving a front wheel drive will also beat you. So when anyone asks how fast my box is, I say it's fast enough to average 45.8 mpg over the past 12,000 miles.

i wasnt able to get anyone to ride with me to video :-( and the intake is more of a short ram/cold air hybrid, i have a box that collects the air and a filter in there to send it to my intake, but i cut my grill out where the box feeds from so its constantly getting a shot of cool air circulating in there, its a pretty awesome setup.

my roommates are all at Spring Fling in panama city florida so when they get back i will be able to video it and time it and everything...i did a test run today and chirped thru 4th gear ;-) i love my box

when we were allowed to race at Etown in NJ a couple years ago .. we ran the 1/8th mile. My best run with a .002 reaction time put me at the end of the track around 60 MPH in about 9.8 seconds. And thats in a automatic.
