what's wrong??? :(
okay so idk if this falls under here or not. But I've been noticing that I'm getting horrible gas mileage recently. I used over half a tank only goin 130 miles. Also my car has a horrible idle it'll drop to about 500rpms andfeel like it's goine to die. And it has absolutely no acceleration past 3K rpms in any gear. I cleaned the MAF sensor thinking that would help.... It didn't now I have a check engine light on. Does anyone have the slightest clue what could be wrong w/ it? Idk if it'd matter but I recently got a viper remote start installed. If anyone has a clue to what it is please help
sounds like who ever installed that viper alarm royalled screwed the pooche and broke something.
they broke or shorted something out and now the car is running in limp mode, so it is very rich and very slow.
you need to take the car back to whereever installed that viper remote start system and have them take it off and check everything. disconnect the battery and reset the ECU, and figure out what isn't working. could be the MAF sensor, could be the o2 sensor who knows.
but start with double checking the alarm install and finding out what the CEL is for.

I did mention the CEL light in my original post. And ya imma get the code read and go from there... Hopefully it's nothin but a blown fuse. Should I unplug the battery and see if that does the trick?
aight I'll do that. I really don't think it was the viper because I was already getting poopie gas mileage as is. And I think I thre the cel by cleaning my maf sensor. So maybe just a reflash??? I hope. Ugghhh dang toyotas haha
Sounds like a MAF issue based on my prior experience with a friends tC. His was all stock and we hooked up my FIC to it to datalog a few OEM pulls and I told him to set the MAF mode to Percent, not Voltage. When he set it to voltage, it told the ECU that there was no air coming in but the car knows it's running from the CPS so it goes into limp mode. Car wouldn't rev past 3500 and flooring it felt like <10% throttle (even for NA). Somehow, it may be that your MAF is screwed up and not sending proper info to your ECU. Just a thought.
my bad. i thought you said some thing different. sounds maf or throttle related.
