That is one of the most cleanest tC I have ever seen. A couple of noob question but do you notice any big noticeable gains with a built block and also are you running with the stock ecu and injectors? I plan on building one as well.

hey thanks bro. honestly theres really no gains from a built low compression motor. all i can say is my motor does feel a lot more responsive and theres a slight deeper tone. my motor is built to handle boost. if i was going all motor i wouldv'e done high compression and wouldve seen some gains. but im in desperate need of boost! lol and as of now im on stock ecu and stock injectors. car runs amazing smooth even with the built block. Ptuning did a great job. ill be going with 900cc injectors and for engine management not sure yet

iv'e tested them in snow...lol not the greatest idea ever.....totally the oposite of the weather there made for. ended up sliding and hitting a curb so hard that i cracked my rpf1 and lip..i had to replace the wheel for a new rpf1. haven't really got a chance to test them yet because of the cold weather. it just now started getting warm here. ill post pics later of the tires. i like the sound of 255's. dont want to go too much over the limit of a 17x8 wheel tho. maybe down the road ill switch my hubs and get something like 17x9 or better to fit wider wheels and a better set of rpf1's with better offset and den slap a 255 or 275....your on 255 rite?

ouch yeah any snow or cold weather really hates these type of tires.

im on 245/45/17 reo1rs at the moment, but my next set will be a 255/40/17. the sidewalls on mine are huge, and when running a 35 offset, its a tight fit. the 255 would fit better, and it would have an aggressive bulge to it, cause a 245 is pretty square on the 8 inch wheel.

Well, seeing how I live in G-berg, MD, I guess the gold RPF's on my white 2010 tC is out the window now. At least I can see how it looks. Very clean!

Where do you live? I'm in montgomery village at the end of Montgomery village Ave. I work on NIH. Gotta link up some time. I would really like to take a spin in your car to see how the racelands feel. I am planning to order springs at the end of the week but am just curious about the horror stories I have heard about the RL's. I have read the threads and I think I would simply prefer to put springs on for now and save my money for a nice set of co's down the road. Want to focus on handling.

Boost away! If you need help with installs give me a call. I have some tools and a little bit of know how. No mechanic mind you but I have built up a couple of Subies before.

^^ i used to live in MV a while back. now i live near Gaithersburg High. we should plan a small meet and gather up some people and chill and go eat somwhere. i was thinking somewhere near the frederick area tho. i think theres more tc's that are on SL around there too plus the golden coral buffet is there and it may be closer for Gameover and 08 Scion TC too since there from PA if they want to come.

That's cool. I would be down for that. It would almost have to be a Fri/Sat for me though as my schedule is quite hectic with my daughter playing travel soccer and what not.

I almost drove out to PTuning today but decided to go ahead and come into the office. I figure I need to wait for the money to hit the bank instead of using my credit card to get my springs. I am dieing to drop this thing though. It looks like a damn Jeep right now imo.

looks awesome so far man... i approve... just needs more low and your good to go...

question... your wheels are 17x8 @ +45 ... are you using a spacer?? because for a +45 they are pretty close to being flush with the fender for a +45... it looks like a +35 set up

1989menace
04-16-2010, 06:10 AM
tcpete....no spacers as of now bro....however i am planning on lowering the rears alot more and adding 10mm spacers in a few days..and yea i always thought the front was kinda flush for 45et also..

TCpete
04-16-2010, 06:32 AM

Jasper Ash
04-24-2010, 07:17 AM
Looks fantastic! You do look more flush than I? My RPF1s are same size but +35. I'm guessing its because you a little lower than my s-techs. Hmm..

But looks great, man. Thumbs way up.

Did the built motor give you any more power over being stock.

1989menace
05-14-2010, 01:26 AM
^^no if anything i most likely lost power because of the low compression pistons. the motor however feels a lot more responsive. i honestly cant tell if it got slower. it actually feels quicker to me but that wouldnt make sence i guess..lol

i dnt get it lol

1989menace
05-14-2010, 04:31 AM
i dnt get it lol

my motor is built for boost. which has lower compression pistons than stock. which means i should loose power. however my stock motor (before the build) was strange i guess you can say. my stock motor was faster then 4 other tc's that i raced which all had bolt ons that i beat when i was completely stock....after a while my motor started knocking(i was beating on it too hard)...after building the motor now it feels faster to me...lol idk tho

1989menace
05-14-2010, 04:34 AM
maybe its faster to me now since my motor was already in bad shape to begin with before the build so after building it and getting it fixed it runs in good shape even tho its a built NA for now

hows the rubbing? we have almost the same specs i think. im hating my 235 kumho.. the side wall is super soft and my car has lost some of this responsiveness. i think the flexing on the side wall has killed it. i coulda sworn yours were 225 when we talked a while back. i guess ill be going back to 225 452 falkens.

car is looking great though man!

yep built head, pretty much every thing done minus port n polish. but im goin with the alpha series manifold, and gt3076r hybrid with the tial housing. i dont feel the need for the 35r, tho paul almost had me talked into it.

rubbing is horrible on turns...i need thinner walls....the sidewalls are really soft on mine too....i had 225's when i first got the wheels and they looked too sunk in... now im on 235/45's...im thinking of getting 235/40 or 245/40/ my goal is making it look more agressive by getting wider tires and going lower. i plan on doing some fender work to get it done since im already rubbing as it is on turns.

and thanks bro. your car is sick too..hows that motor running?

good choice....gt30's and gt35's are about the same price tho....im afraid that im gonna want more power if i get a gt30 and spending anouther 1300 on a turbo upgrade is crazy. but i have been thinking about a gt30 too....and the alpha series manifold is so sick...pm me how much you got the manifold for. i may want one...i dont think ptuning would sell me just there manifold

NA is still running great. my only issue is that i burn oil alot every 3k miles... i have no leaks no smoke.. nothing. i use mobil 1 10w30 and every 1500 miles i gotta dump a quart or quart and a half in it FTL. i think its because i do about 45 miles of highway driving a day to and from work and im usually cruising at about 70-80 mph the whole time. lol so the oil is probably just breaking down and burning up quickly for that reason. seriously i have NO leaks the engine bay is spotless.

go figure..

i know what your saying with tire sizes. the 235 on the 8" wide with +38 offset is tucking for me just enough with the added camber i have up front but i scrap like a mofo for being so low. i think the 225/45 will be just enough to cheat the height drop and sidewalls. ive already noticed where on the tire it rubs so (on the sidewall) so really a 225 should solve all my problems

o shi! i have the same exact issue except im using castrol gtx 10w 30...my motor burns oil too....and everything is perfect...no leaks...smoke or anything. i think your rite. its the constant highway driving and your probably pushing the beast a lot too...lol im never below 75mph when driving to work 25 miles 5 days a week. so i know why my motor is loosing oil. regardless i check it every two days just to stay on the safe side.

i will def let you kno how much but im buying the whole setup so that the only thing i have to fab is the exhaust and the ic piping, ive decided since my pops has a welder im gonna learn how to weld and then do that stuff on my own. and only if i showed you guys what my engine looks like after my builders tore it down, i changed my oil just before my 1600 mile trip from oklahoma to delaware, when i got home i should of checked my oil again so its partially my fault but anyways i spun all 4 main bearings, one of the bearings had to be pried apart.

wow bro! that sucks! my motor started knocking real bad which got me to build the pos....when we opened the motor it was dry on oil...2 weeks before the oil was perfect..but o well...i learned my lesson to check the oil more often...ive been really looking into the alpha series set up from dezod...and im leaning towards it too...there manifold is sick.

yea man i was gonna go with the descendant kit at first then i changed my mind again to the descendant manifold and get a garret turbo with a tial housing then i found out the flange is the wrong size so i said eff it and now i will be orderin my dezod ish as soon as i find out for sure how much labor is gonna cost for my block.
