Ok... I'm looking for a slight 1" - 1.5" drop.

What's my best spring. I don't want it too stiff, or too low.

I will end up choosing one of these because they all cost about the same.

Just want to see what you guys think are the best of this group. Thanks

lol. I think the H tech has the lowest spring rate.. so that should mean the best ride (and body roll). I have them, it's like a caddy!

Go for Eibach if the drop is within your range, they may cost more but they are progressive so they are soft for normal wear but get stiffer to prevent extreme body roll.

the tanabe ride awesome and lower and lower you 1.7

the TRDs have the most votes? I've heard they give a stiffer ride from the dealer and others here. i think part of the problem here is that you may have different opinions depending on whether the car is an xA and xB.

I did some research on this let me find it and I can post to you the specs for the diff between tanabes and teins. I'll have to see if the specs for the trds are posted somewhere.

dude go tiens, i have a 77 year old an with a xa riding on tiens and he like ride almost as much as his Caddy CTS. he says they are sooth and hadle well enough for his driving style.I have seen him lay rubber with the CTS. Bill

I was leaning towards the Htechs. I just found the Tanabes and TRDs to be the same price range and amount of drop(roughly).

So it seems like they are the most comfortable (HTECHs) but body roll is still there?? The TRDs are getting the votes, and I want those too. (just so my TRD sticker actually goes with something! :loser: :rofl: )

I forgot to mention the DC sports strut bar, so that should tighten up the body roll.

Strut bar wont help with the body roll near as much as new Swaybars will.

I have Hotchkis springs they lower the Xb around 1.5 inches which looks cool yet the ride is better than stock.My tire size is 215-45-17 and it fills up the wheel well just fine.I also have the hotchkis sway bar set front and rear along with the front strut bar set-up.the car rips through corners!(as well as any box could)If you dout me call Hotchkis like I did they'll be more than happy to help out.

I like the TRD's. Gives it a clean look without going overboard. You wont have to get your box re-alligned, no rubbing or scraping. The springs arent the softest, but its really not that bad at all. Check my profile for pics of the drop. Thats my 2 cents kids... :wink:

I say either tein h tech or tanabe NF210.

I thought the trd springs were toooo harsh of a ride. I hated those springs so i sold the set i had on my xA.

Im not sure how they are on an xA, but on the xB they are barley different feeling from stock.

Lowering Springs - The key to good handling is a well-tuned suspension. The components that actually do the "suspending" are the springs. All else being equal, a stiffly-sprung vehicle handles better than one with softer springs. In the real world of highway driving, stiff springs, which are great for handling, provide too harsh of a ride, and soft springs for comfort don't provide the handling enthusiasts demand. As a solution, TRD offers progressive-rate coil springs. Over irregular road surfaces, the lower-rate coils of a progressive-rate spring compress first allowing a more compliant, softer ride. As the force on the spring increases, like when rounding a corner, the higher-rate coils provide a progressively stiffer ride. The result is better handling and a tighter grip with little compromise in ride quality. And, lowered cars look better and faster. TRD offers a wide variety of progressive-rate springs so you can select the right spring package to fit your needs. Some are designed to work with your vehicle's stock suspension while others are designed to work in conjunction with other TRD high-performance suspension components. All TRD coil springs are manufactured from high quality chrome-silicon wire and powder coated, and all are designed to lower the vehicle, usually from 1" to 1.125".

TRDs have a 10% Stiffer Spring rate according to the same site. Dunno if that helps...

Ashe, do you have any info on the stock xb springs? I think I remember squirrel saying something about the spring rates being different for the 04 and 05 xB... anyhow just wondering what I'm rolling around on now..

So is that the one in the rear? If so, my exhaust is blocking where it should go.

For the front I also was thinking of adding a lower frame brace. Will this help body roll?

Braces don't really help with roll, only rigidity. So, you need bigger (xB comes with front and rear bars already) sway bars/stiffer springs to reduce roll.

The xB(04) spring rate is F: 148 R: 160, I had not heard of the xB getting stiffer shocks in 05. I'll have to look into it.

Don, check out the Hotchkiss Sways and Progress sways in the SLparts area. Unless for some reason you ran your exhaust against your rear "axel" they shouldn't interfere.
