Default Running remote wire in 2010 xb with alpine radio upgrade

This might be a dumb question but I just purchased a 2010 xb with the alpine head unit upgrade that is part number PT545-00102. Searched online all day and cant find anywhere that tells me if I am installing an amp what wire do I need to splice to run my remote wire from amp to back of head unit??

see if there is a blue/white wire.. aftermarket radios are usually blue/white sometimes just blue.. but if the wires in the harness are the standard aftermarket colors then they are going to be
red
yellow
black
blue
blue/white
white
white/black
grey
grey/black
green
green/black
purple
purple/black

but since that's the alpine head unit upgrade.. it may just plug directly into the stock harness.. in that case check for a grey that comes on with the key.. that is the accessory for a stock toyota radio

Have you pulled the radio out yet to inspect the wiring?

look for a blue/yellow, gray, and brown that are on the corner of the bigger harness.. the gray in that one should be your accessory wire

Does the have RCA Pre-Amp outputs already on the back of the radio or are you using a line level converter?
If it has pre-amp outputs its almost certain to have a remote turn on.

Thanks for all the replys. Checked with local car audio shop and it is the gray wire so slody is right. Just didn't want to buy a new head unit or burn the box down.

only problem was his was factory wiring.. so it had the factory plug..

on an aftermarket yes it would have a blue for power antenna, but if it functions like a power antenna wire you would not want to use that because you would have your amp cut on with the radio, but not on cd or aux.. had to fix that for other people so many times over the years when i used to install

Yeah, you're right. On my cheap headunit it would act like a remote wire but im sure that's not the case with other higher end HUs . Any yellow ignition wire can also work.

Orange wire in factory harness is the power antenna/remote turn on.
