2010 base pioneer HU USB stick error
hi, Ive got a base pioneer HU in my 2010 xb. I was using a stick drive in the usb port with no issues until now. Its a sony usb thumb drive with 256 mb memory and formatted to FAT32. I changed out the music on the drive, still keeping the FAT32 format but all i get is "device error" on the HU. The drive plays fine on a pc still. Any suggestions? Thanx in advance!

read carefully in the manual.. i don't have one but a lot of aftermarket units prefer the file types to be in a certain way on the drive..
some units would give errors if .wav .mp3, .wma, etc were in the same folder.. so it require 2 separate root folders one for each file type.. if you have mixed file types remove one and just put one in there and see if it works.. for example only put .mp3 on the driver and see if it plays it.. then add more folders and organize it.. and check again.. then try to put your other file types in a separate folder and try again

They still make USB drives with 256meg? I thought I was bad with a dinky 4gb drive! But please get at least a 4 gb drive and rip the songs at 192mb/s. Anything less and you'll lose clarity in the music. At that bit rate, you'll use up more memory, but the result is way better sound. I use 3 drives in my car, each with a different genre (it's faster than hunting on most HUs for a certain folder).
