i like them both but the rx8 is less common id go with the rx8 and turbo it.... expect little response to this question as its posted on a scion board

The rx8 has absolutely no low end power at all, I mean NONe i test drove one , I liked it except you needed at least 4+k to get any power , i also like the looks of the 350z better and cab you say twin turbo?lol. I'd opt for the g35 over both.

350Z no question. You have a tC, I'm guess you like torque or you would have bought a honda/acura.

Do the same again but on a higher level, 350Z over RX8. Plus the RX8 has horrible blind spots in the back (sit inside and look back). It also has horrible plastics that break inside.

I almost bought an RX-8, but after seeing all that I said forget it.

I voted 350z, but I would buy the G35 over that any day.

RX-8, much sexier-unfortunately Rotaries are mean tempered, but the Renesis is supposed to be an improvement.

Plus i dont like the Zs styling as much as i did when it first came out, so if youre going that direction, do what everyone else suggested and go with the G35

Rx-8's are horribly slow stock, even with basic bolt-on's it's still slow. For the best bang for the buck (HP wise) i'd go with the Z hands down, that Z motor begs for force induction and takes well to turbo's and S/C's.

rx8 is the hotest, 350 is ok i guess, but ill follow the crowd and get the oh so sexy G to the 35

I was recently in this same situation... I decided on the Rx8.. It's alot more unique, the interior is great.. insurance is less, and on average, the car costs 5k-7k cheaper than the 350z... BUT... I decided not to buy the Rx-8 after researching on their message board, rx8club.com... It appears that the average gas mileage they are getting with the car is about 14mpg... Ultra-rare for someone to be getting 19, few 17s... lots of 14-15 and lots of 11-13 mpg reported... Go and check it out for yourself...

I decided to buy neither... Right now relying on an old toyo celica until I can decide on a new car ;P

NOTE: Also, on the speed aspect.. yes, the 350z will FEEL alot faster, but as far as I've seen on 1/4 mile times, it only runs .2-.7 (depending on which magazine you are looking at) faster than the rx8

No you don't need to keep the revs up upon launch , allthough I'd say if a quick as all hell start is what you wanted then yes. The 350Z has a lovely exhaust note , the RX-8 doesn't sound that great IMO.

i dunno about that, ive heard the rx8 and its nice i think, i havnt heard the Z yet. but the 8 has that "from the future" sound

I have driven both, and I would get the 8. its just so much better to drive!!! also every review out there puts the 8 on top of the Z!! the ONLY thing the Z has is more power, and thats all. The 8 just drives circles around the Z when it comes to handleing!! it also has a MUCH better interior!!! just go to www.rx8club.com they are some good guys and they will tell you some good unbiased info on the 8 vs Z comparo. I know its an 8 site so how can it be unbiased?? just go there you will see :)

Thats a tough choice, but Id have to say 350Z because my friend has one and it is awesome! Besides if you do a bit of research, the reviews say that the 350Z is the best bargain for that car category. Kinda like how they say the tC is best value for its class.

Your asking this question on a message board for Scion owners, you should expect them not to like your choice and trash one or both of the cars your looking at. AGain, who really cares what the mass of retards say, in the end. YOU buy the car, not them.

I researched mostly the 350Z and its all good reviews.. I didnt really look into the 8 too much. So you maybe right. Either way, both are really badass cars. Cant go wrong either way I guess.

My girlfriend has a 6spd RX-8 full package($32K) and it's so I drive it almost on a regular basis. It's damn sweet. Need to get the revs up for the power but it great nonetheless. Extra two seats in the back are always great too. Love the rotary engine sound....reminiscent of a fighter jet on the take off strip. Styling will forever be unique ;definitely stands out. Handles like it's on rails and very well balanced. Would be a great track car. Downside is is sucks up gas (17-18mpg) and eats up oil. But you take care of it and it will reward you well.

My close friend has the 350Z sport($35k). That thing is great off the line....decent torque. Styling was unique in the beginning but now every other car looks like it or has improved on it hence the G35 and wannabe g35 ...the TC. Handles great but not nicely or as balanced as the rx8. The brakes are nice as hell as you would expect from a Brembo setup. Get's way better gas mileage and yes ... reliability is not as suspect.

Either way great cars but that RX-8 is definitely a breed of it own and I have to admit I have a bias toward better handling cars beside sports cars should be high maintenance or else go buy a friggin toyota :D

The RX8 sucks. If you want a real Mazda sportscar, find a used FD (last gen RX7) The one that is nice and light and has twin turbos. Way better in every way than the RX8 midlife crisis 4 door family sports car with no turbos.
