My heat and A/C was slowly not working but at the time I didn't have the money to fix it. It would take 30 mins or so for the air to get hot or cold. Now they have both stopped. Doesn't matter how long I run it for it only blow hot or cold air depending on the weather outside.

When I turn it on on the A/C the light does come one, and all other lights are working. I checked the fuses under the dash, and checked both the fuses and relays in the engine. All are good. Coolant levels are good also.

Trying to figure out what the next thing I should check, and if there are any good guides on it. I tried taking it to one mechanic and he was telling me that they are two totally separate systems and that it is two separate problems that just happened to happen at the same time. I looked at the wiring diagram and it looks like it is all one system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They are two different system. The heater will take some time to warm up since it's coolant is the heating source. Wiring diagram does not relate to the actual AC or Heating system unless it's an electrical problem.

Your A/C not blowing cold means that you might be low on refrigerant, that the clutch is not engaging, a leak somewhere in the system (more likely from the condenser), or there could be a restriction in the lines. Have a mechanic look at the system.

The heating problem could be anything from a clogged heater core, a defect in the blender door, to a bad heater control valve or having air in the cooling system.
