Depends on what you want to do...
Debadge, clear headlights, both of which are free.

You can try ebay to search for a batman logo badge?

if the mods have to be cheap ones, i think you're better off not doing any mods. there's nothing wrong with a stock xa.

$40.00 From autozone for hood struts

You do mean like the struts that self lift the hood, like as in no more prop rod ?

If so do they fit an xB also & what would the part name or part # be so I can check out the local A to the Z. Thanks for any info !!!!!

codenhead - Run a search on SL member JINSU Great parts, Great prices, Great seller . Also try Randode.com also a SL member & all of the above. Need Vynil try DefconDesigns.com I have ordered from all of these guys they are all real good sellers !

Really cheap mods - I agree with Ashe's comments & also just keep an eye on both Classified sections of this site, something for everyone & every budget in there :D

Check my sig for a good hood strut kit from Redline Tuning... I couldn't find anybody that had xA hood strut specs that I could just pick up at Autozone... everybody has xB specs... and once you mount the strut-it's yours. You can't return it. So if you buy a strut for the xB and put it on the xA-if it doesn't work, you're out $40+... I'd rather spend the $60 and know I have a kit that has been designed for my car...

You can change your oven light to another color, de-badge your rear emblem (not the scion one), change your antenna to a stubby one or change your interior dome light color...

or try these threads.... found in the tech section:

Once you get a feel for the site and see some other members cars, you'll get ideas like crazy... There's about a million places to put LED's... I'm becoming an LED-aholic...

What about that fog light mod? wasn't that a low priced one also?

Blue_Estel
02-20-2005, 06:51 AM
YES! I forgot about that one...

I picked up a pair of fog lights from Walmart for $20. They fit right into the stock holes... I actually bought 2 different sets:

1st set I had to drill small hole on either side to attach the light.
2nd set I just reversed the brackets so that the screws faces out and "pinched" them into the stock housing so that the screws poked through the hole in the back...

It's easier to see and I didn't take any pictures... sorry... :(

but yeah, you can pick up nice looking fogs for $20... people mistake them for the $350 OEM fogs...

You could do the illuminated cup holders and storage box for under $10. It's cheap, easy to do, and fun results.

Window sticker looks cool (would go with my whole black/red theme). My questions to you are: 1. The sticker is listed as an xB shaped decal. (curve of windshield...) So how easily did it install on the flat xA windshield, 2. How big is it (coverage on windshield)? and finally 3. How does it look?

imo, stickers ruin the car. Doesn't add anything other than advertisement you're not payed to do.

Though if you're sponsored, that's a different story altogether :P

As metioned before, what ever you do don't expect to do anything for cheap. You may start out spending a little here and a little there, and before you know it you are spending quite a bit of $ on mods.
Take me for example,
When I first got on these boards my car was nearly bone stock, all I had were foglights , the leather steering wheel, and the OBX shift knob for a total of $600, I got ripped off by the dealer.
Now I have spent around 3 times that amount on my car by getting ideas from others here on the board (rims, lowering springs, better tires, other shift knobs, 6 disc changer,.....list goes on). Hell, I just spent $106 on sound deadening paint (edead v3). Gotta love these guys. They are a bad influence! :P

1) I just found a link to a similar one.... I bought one from same folks for the xA and it installed in minutes.
2) It stretches across the entire windshield.
3) I love it! Many compliments.

I got one in Electric Red that matches very well with the Absolutely Red... I'll snap some pics tomorrow to show you...

if your looking for some good mods, try debadging and painting a different color. there is a good article in the tech section and it helped me to paint my badges. they turned out pretty nice.

the first mod besides the cabin filter you should do that will make the most impact of any mod....is to lowe your xA. They are sooooo high. if you don't lower it your crazy. It fun to do and you can do it by yourself and only costs a little over 100 clams.
