I've been looking at the Fujita short ram intake... but then I noticed less expensive ones and even the ones sold on eBay look almost identical. For the purpose of what these parts do, is there any difference between each intake? Aren't they just pieces of pipe ? Wouldn't the quality of the filter be the only variable factor?
Please explain to me if I'm wrong, or refer me to some other thread. My search skills suck. Thanks.

well not sure if you have smog in your area? most are 50 state legal even though not all 50 states have smog rules:crazy:from my understanding as you stated the filters vary, some carry the carb#.then from there you have the choice of short ram or cold air(a longer tube). from what i understand each gives you more trq/hp at x amount of rpm, so for example short gives ya trq/hp right away and then cold air gives ya power at xx amount of rpm.if that makes any sense??can anyone help out??i think somewere on this forums is shot out with the intakes that shows each ones + and -

you're right to an extent. yes they are pieces of pipe and essentially all you're paying for is the filter and the name. that being said, i'd rather buy from a company that can pay out if anything were to happen, or if you need replacement parts or get a defective part.
also this is in the wrong section, just fyi.

i bought the injen one,but then again for me even though i paying for the brand name i know im getting quality parts and fitmen is very good vs ebay intake pipe would look like crap to me then youll have to spend money on a filter and stuff...so for me i would say get a decent brand intake...yes the filter is what matters..
SR VS CAI.........CAI gives you more power not much more but it not as loud as SR...
you wont feel or see the diferrence between the two.....

I went with a YDR SRI. The YDR has the same tube as the Injen, only with the stamp. The YDR comes with a K&N filter.
