View Full Version : Shift knob thread size? Romanova 02-20-2005, 04:07 PM Looking to get a new shift knob and I wanted to know what the appropriate thread size is for an 05 Xb. Thank you very much! Big_hungry 02-20-2005, 05:12 PM I would say either 10mm or 12mm. Most shift knobs are universial and come with several different sized inserts. Thats my 2 cents for the day. Romanova 02-20-2005, 07:57 PM Not the Blitz knob I am looking at. Momo knobs screw on with allen bolts so they are universal. Others like Razo come with different inserts. I think our cars are 12x1.25 but I need confirmation. ugly_duck 02-21-2005, 05:22 PM Not the Blitz knob I am looking at. Momo knobs screw on with allen bolts so they are universal. I'll confirm 12 x1.25 to the best of my knowledge kaos672 02-21-2005, 05:25 PM How do you change out the stock shift knob? I'm a newbie xB owner. Big_hungry 02-21-2005, 07:37 PM youjust have to twist it off. it wil probably be kinda hard to do at first. J_A_Trevino 02-21-2005, 10:28 PM does trd make a shift knob for the xb? or can someone give a suggestion for a good knob?=) chadfo 02-21-2005, 11:01 PM TRD does make one for the short shifter. I'm not sure about separate. mikochu 02-21-2005, 11:06 PM Not the Blitz knob I am looking at. Momo knobs screw on with allen bolts so they are universal. Others like Razo come with different inserts. I'll confirm 12 x1.25 to the best of my knowledge I concur. ugly_duck 02-22-2005, 01:06 AM trd makes a round knob only available for the short shifter. TRD also offers a "traditional" looking knob. There are also a few other threaded knobs available, IE Skunk2, Greddy, more. Do a search chadfo 02-22-2005, 01:31 AM If someone is interested in the knob that comes with the short shifter, let me know. I bought a Momo 2 weeks after installing the shifter so I have the one that came with it just laying around. EEk13 03-01-2005, 08:34 PM Not the Blitz knob I am looking at. It is on mega back order... who knows when I will get it... 2yrstillicense1 03-13-2005, 10:25 PM they have the obx carbon fiber shift knobs. i have a gunmetal/carbon fiber one and its prety cool, they come in red, blue, gunmetal, and silver. if you go to your dealer they should be able to help you out. if you buy one you have to make your own thread though, its not hard, you just screw it on and it forms itself around the thread of the shifter maxsin 03-14-2005, 05:42 AM personally i am a fan of the ichibahn bold series. i am not sure if they fit though. |
