If you do it yourself, it is cheaper, but otherwise, it's about the same as a paint job. Yes, it is removable. And no, it does not damage the paint.

I cant imagine the paint will get eaten away over time. Even painters tape will do damage, if left on for too long. I can testify for this.

Painters tape has adhesive though.

That's very cool and as long as there isn't any grit or anything stuck between the paint and the vinyl it won't damage the paint.

It took him 8 days to do this. Wow. I wouldn't have the patience for it, but I think my box would look awesome if it was flat black.

Thing is to use the right vinyl it seems (I read through the entire thread on the BMW forum) and there are better ones to use than the #631 that he used. Think #751 or there was a #9xx that is more apt for this application of a car. It shouldn't hurt the paint but he did talk about a paste, or adhesive or something that I'd be weary of. I think he's done it to other cars though too, i dunno. still think it's pretty dope. Wouldn't even mind some faux-cf if it looks that good.

^ Brand that he used is called Oracle, google it and you'll find their site.
