So recently my dad got a trd intake off an 07 scion tc.
Me and my dad tried putting it into my scion tc, an 05, but ran into some minor problems.

First, the sensors were different. So we ghetto rigged it. We found an 07 sensor and cut it connecting it into the 05. The sensors wires were in different places, but we just matched the wires.

Next, it didn't come with an air filter. We measured the diameter of the intake and it was like less than 2.5 inches. Went to the local auto stores and couldn't find anything. Closest filter was inches. We found a way to ghetto rig it and it seems like its working.

Cliffs-
07 Harness cut and wired to 05 Harness. Same color wires different spots.
Ghetto rigged a 3in air filter
Drove home about 30 miles, so far so good.
I drove the car hard too.
Sounds so sexy!

Questions
- Is there any harm with the sensors? (Same wire colors, but different places on the harness)
- Where can I find a filter to fit the TRD Intake?

Thanks!

well you need to get and intake thats fits your 05 tc.....cause 05-06 tc's are different then the 07+ tc's as far as the intakes are concerned... the MAF sensor is different.........

now you can get the filter at autozone or pepboys

There is a MAF adapter you can get as well to get the sensor to fit. Just look online for the diameter you need. Any filter would work for it.

Well, it seems to be running fine.

We just cut the 07 MAF adapter and connect the wires to the 05 scion.

Seems to work perfectly. Drove 30 miles, no problems yet.

If the check engine light doesn't come on then I say right on to ya. Personally I'm a little OCD with my car and making sure the parts are made to fit. But if you got it to work and you don't mind the rig then keep it :) enjoy the purty sound.
