View Full Version : Angel eyes? oreoremix42 05-09-2010, 01:57 AM Anyone have them or have a diy of them? Olesen_Custom_Automotive 05-09-2010, 02:19 PM they cost $150 shipped brand new http://articles.dashzracing.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/08-scion-xb-projector-headlights-4.jpg http://www.fastscions.com/images/products/detail/2LHPXB08JMBTM.gif http://www.topgearautosport.com/img/350/101117ZEUN.jpg elwaylite 05-09-2010, 08:50 PM Those are good looking. Hows the beam performance at night? oreoremix42 05-09-2010, 09:39 PM Yea I like them as well, but I am thinking about just modding the stock headlights. I want to paint them black on the inside and then angel eyes. Just can't afford that price CIONIDE 05-09-2010, 09:57 PM Here's somebody else who made their own: http://www.scionlife.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137588 And this is what you need to do it: http://cgi.ebay.com/2x-70mm-Soft-White-Angel-Eyes-Ring-Halo-Car-light-416-/280500538343?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item414f228be7 elwaylite 05-10-2010, 12:15 AM $150 aint bad, just makes me wonder how well the lights work. I always worry about aftermarket headlights, because they sometimes look great, but are not very useful at night :) elwaylite 05-10-2010, 01:28 PM I sent those guys an email. I think Im gonna buy the ones in post 2, from spec'd tuning. Olesen_Custom_Automotive 05-10-2010, 01:44 PM the ones in pic 3 are cold-cathode (you can see the halo ring in the day) but the spec-d ones match perfectly with 10000k HIDs if they fog up after a few washes or rainshowers, do not freak out. it will eventually stop fogging up (its magic) elwaylite 05-10-2010, 01:48 PM Where can the ones in pic 3 be bought? Id like the brightest ring as possible, because I like to run them during the day. elwaylite 05-10-2010, 03:42 PM http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/08-09-SCION-xB-BLACK-CCFL-HALO-PROJECTOR-HEADLIGHTS-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem48368676a5QQitemZ310152427173QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories I guess this is a better choice since its CCFL, for daytime running. Olesen_Custom_Automotive 05-10-2010, 03:48 PM yea CCFL is more expensive, but i think its worth the extra $$$ elwaylite 05-10-2010, 03:49 PM Yeah, I just bought the ebay ones in black. $300. Olesen_Custom_Automotive 05-10-2010, 09:24 PM pics when installed oreoremix42 05-11-2010, 01:05 PM I am more then likely going to do a customsetup on my stock headlights. Get the tubes to install angel eyes myself and while apart paint the inside black elwaylite 05-12-2010, 10:47 PM Lights will be here Friday, along with Unichip. Know what Im doing Fri night! oreoremix42 05-13-2010, 12:11 AM Lights will be here Friday, along with Unichip. Know what Im doing Fri night! Sick! can't wait to see both! I have been thinking about unichip for a while elwaylite 05-13-2010, 12:12 AM Well, when I run the dyno again on the 21st, Unichip is either gonna gain some customers or lose some customers :D oreoremix42 05-13-2010, 02:21 AM haha it'll gain me as a customer when i get money for it. I need MORE POWER! xbaholic 05-13-2010, 04:11 AM A uni chip has been in the back of my mind for a while... cant wait to find out if it works!! sMercado21781 06-24-2010, 07:48 PM does anyone know if the ccfl ones will fit the xb2011? also, what is a uni chip? still learning myself up in the mod game elwaylite 06-24-2010, 07:51 PM It's a piggyback ecu thats plug and play. Ups the engine timing for increased tq and hp. Has two settings, one for 87 octane and one for 93 (more aggressive timing). CIONIDE 06-24-2010, 08:23 PM also, what is a uni chip? http://www.unichip.us XBinRochester 06-25-2010, 08:49 AM does anyone know if the ccfl ones will fit the xb2011? also, what is a uni chip? still learning myself up in the mod game I thought the 2011 headlights are a slightly different shape, so I wouldn't think so. XBinRochester 06-25-2010, 08:57 AM These are the Anzo Headlights (Pict. 3). I bought them from No Limitz. http://www.nolimitzind.com/headlightanzo.html Quality lights, bright, no fogging, Plug n Play (except for Halos) http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr334/bikerochester/Scion%20XB/DSCN1796_2.jpg With running lights on http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr334/bikerochester/Scion%20XB/DSCN1811.jpg With low beams and fog lights on http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr334/bikerochester/Scion%20XB/DSCN1814_2.jpg tenshun 05-02-2012, 03:32 PM Bump! I too am going to bake open my stock headlights to swap out the projector lense and while I'm in there I want to paint it black and add some CCFL Angel Eyes on the projector shroud. I know that The Retrofit Source sells them between 60mm-100mm diameters in 10mm increments, but I'm curious to see if anyone has added these onto the stock projector and if so, how big a diameter gets a proper fit? Obviously I could use my caliper to measure the diameter but I would have to bake open the headlight just to measure and then order the CCFLs. I would prefer, for my own sanity, to only have to open and close them one time. Thats why I'm researching all this info so that I'm ready with everything to do the whole project at once. Anyways, any help on this matter is most appreciated. |
