View Full Version : Vent Visors
TheIcon 02-22-2005, 01:12 PM I am looking for some vent visors. I have a question though. If they are in-channel will they in anyway mess up the tint on my windows? (I assume in-channel means the snap into the channel where the glass slides up and you don't need 3M tape?????)
Ive seen these

Also heard Pep Boys has some. Any opinions?

ltj42884 02-23-2005, 01:15 PM your tint is on the inside of the window...the visors will only touch the outside of your window...they still use 3m tape but they are held in place better instead of just kinda sittin on the outside of your car
TheIcon 02-23-2005, 04:32 PM I thought there were other ones that didn't use 3M tape. That kind of slide up in to the groove where you window goes?

Those use 3m tape. At least the Wade ones I installed do.

they used the 3m tape on the ones that i had on my ranger...i think that they would fall out if you just stick them in there
Oni-Haya 02-23-2005, 05:18 PM The Ventvisor brand use tape ... and yes they are in channel versions. I used my $50 gift card and got mine from the dealer. They are very nice and VERY EASY to install.
TheIcon 02-23-2005, 06:16 PM Ok well I guess they all use 3M.
Can someone explain what in-channel is to me then? If they are not in-channel what are they? And don't say out-channel smartass ;)
ltj42884 02-23-2005, 06:25 PM inchannel goes up "in the channel" where the top of the window seals with the door
the other ones mount on the outside of where the top of the window seals with the door...on the black weather stripping
SCI_TC_GUY 02-23-2005, 06:29 PM in channel go on the inside of the window channel...obviously....the other ones just use the 3m tape to stick to the complete exterior......the advantage to in-channel is you don't have to worry-so much-about them gettin ripped off by pressure washers or whatever.....and the tape won't become de-stickied and make your visors
flap-n-clap while goin down the interstate.....
TheIcon 02-23-2005, 06:38 PM Ok think I got it now :) Thanks all. I use to ride the short bus. Sorry for my slowness

ciscob 02-23-2005, 08:30 PM I was hoping I can find a pic of one already install. If they are from Japan I heard can you get a Manual in english.
Bluerobin 02-23-2005, 08:40 PM If you are interested in the vent visors that are in channel and do not use 3M tape then get Weatherflectors. They are very nice and you can get them in 2 shades. The website is http://www.weathertech.com/store/vehsearch.asp?make_id=66&year_no=2004&veh_id=1142&item_group_id=4&veh_opt_choice_id=0
I have them on my car if you want to see what they look like. Take a look at my profile.
TheIcon 02-23-2005, 11:46 PM Thanks all. Didn't realize there was a whole vent visor world out there :)

pm scionjohn about them, he has had them on for a while.
I need help.. I cannot understand the manual on how to put these window visors on.
Can anybody help?
why do you need a pic of them installed if you need help installing them..dont you already have them??
ciscob 02-24-2005, 01:36 AM I have them, but not install yet. For some reason there is a gap between where the window visor ends and where the pic in the instructions pictures looks like.
