I have been pullin it behind my 65 vw sundial stuffed with enough camping gear ext. for 5 people. Two are teenage girls! No wind drag, or loss of room inside.
I only have about 50 hp in that, so the box should do just fine.

This is what I have to say. Very much worth it. The installation is very simple. The only hard part is removing two exhaust hangers to move the exhaust a bit. You have to do it in order to place the hitch into position. One installed the exhaust goes back on and no interference. You do not have to cut the bumper cover. the receiver is about 1/2 inch below the bumper cover. I think it is strong enough to tow a small trailer like a personal watercraft or those small trailers you see at harbor freight.
I paid $120 including shipping from a guy on ebay.

All you guys with a hitch- do you have any problems with the hitch scraping on the ground, say when you are going over speed bumps or dips in the road?

Where did you guys (hitch owners) drop your wires from to go to the trailer? Did you just extend them, and hang them out the rear hatch when needed, or did you drill, and drop them out the bottom?

You can do everything through the air exhust vents. The two removable grills in the back.
Just pick a side, and run a wire for the opposit side turn signal through the underside.
When you remove the vent grills pull out the chunk of gray insulation. You should see your foot! I am using the Hoppi protection/conversion box. You need to get a hot wire from up front for it. I just ran it under the box. Went a little heavier and it powers my rear sub also.
I have not found a plug and play kit yet if someone else knows of a part # .

got it, except for the conversion box thing..is that like a circuit protection deal or something?

They may have one for the box, I haven't checked. I picked mine up at Auto zone for
about $30.00. Its for a Mazda. I just cut the plugs off and wire it direct. It is the same for all cars with seprate brake and turn signals.. It would be nice to find a direct set up.

Anyone tow any jetski's? I know the engine is small, but just curious.

Every now and then, my curt hitch will hit a speed bump. Not enough to bend anything. My rides lowered 2". I ran the light harness down behind the drivers side tail light and out the rubber grommet at the bottom of the wheel well. I zip-tied it to the hitch.

my hitch rattles around in the reciever. Does anyone elses do this? I wrapped it with one layer of electrical tape to silence it some, but seems it would fit better?

what part is rattling ? against what ?

the actual solid steel hitch, the part the ball mounts to. It goes into the tube of the reciever. It is about 1/8" smaller than the reciever hole, so it rattles. Either the reciever tube is a tad too big, or the hitch bar is a tad too small. Just wondering if others are like that.
