personally one of my favorites. i had standard yokos then khumo asx's and the hankook V12s are by far a lot better. only downside is that the khumos had a warranty of 30k miles and the hankooks dont have a warranty. however, there was a big difference in grip and handling

hankooks > khumos IMHO

my tread was 225/40/18 btw

Car and driver tested them. It destroyed everything in the class and they are cheap. I will get them for sure!

these tires dont have a milage warranty. because of the purpose of the tire. even though they say 30,000 to 35,000 miles.

check out the bridgestone re960 a-pole

i love my hankooks evo v12. I've had general uhp, kumho asx, and of course the stock yokos. Hands down I'd said the best out of all of these. Check with pepboys on these. They have buy 3 get 1 free via mail.

OMG... why do you guys comparing these tires????

Nitto nt1 is a track tire.. UTQG is only a 100.... and it is a $150 tire
kumho ast is an all season tire and utqg is 400! and its only $92! ( this is what i have now and i love it that its not bald at 12k miles)
Hankook v12 is summer tire, utqg is 280 and only 100 dollars
Bridgestone is 150 dollars.......................

so what do you want? all season or summer? if only summer then dont compare anything just get the v12's you CANT go wrong with them.

If you want ultimate grip in a summer tire go with the extreme performance category: Dunlop Direzza Z1 Sport Star Spec, Bridgestone RE-11, Hankook Ventus RS3, Kumho Ecsta XS. These tires are SUPER grippy and close to R-Compound competition tires lol. But they won't last too long.

Performance-wise the Ventus V12 Evo is in the max performance summer category, which is one level below the extreme performance category. Max performance is not a bad choice for daily driving along with the step lower, ultra-high performance (UHP).

Have these tires on my XB2, They are awesome for the amount of money you pay for them. My friend also runs these tires on his Evo X

you can't compare UTQG between companies to compare tread wear. each company has it's own standards plus weather, temp, elevation of where they tested the tire will make this number change.

these are some b/a tires especially with supporting suspension mods however my next set of tires will be the star specs and in the magazine tests it shows that the star specs are number 1 and the v12's are second. either way they both are sick tires.

The V12s were second overall, which includes, wet, noise level, etc. This is because the V12 is a good all-around summer tire for track/DD. The Ecsta XS and Star Specs were decently faster in the dry autocross and outright grip. But you're right, the V12s are still sick tires

You can compare the SPT to the AST since they're both Kumho. The SPTs are 320 and the AST 400, so the SPTs should have lasted 75% of what the ASTs will.

But that's crazy, my SPTs have lasted 20-25k.

Yeah, I'm dropped on Hotchkis and running -2 degrees camber front and -1 rear. I've autocrossed a bunch for the last 10k on them. And for sure, driving style has a lot to do with tire wear. I don't drive that hard on the streets.
