Default Sound Low

Hi,

Relating back to my previous thread...I installed the stock radio in my girlfriends TC the other night and the sounds seemed kind of low...I would have to turn the volume nearly all the way to max for it to be a good loud....and even when I turn the bass all the way up to 5 it still doesn't thump like a stock radio should...I know this because my sister also has a TC and hers is louder...any ideas? this is an 08...when I hooked it up..I only plugged in two of the connectors...i believe there were 1 or two others but they didn't seem to fit anywhere so....

youve got to be missing some sort of wire to like the amplifier or something to power it. because speakers can be played with out being powered so something youve missed plugging in or have plugged into wrong spot

The only tC that didnt have a power sunroof was the Spec-tC. came with steel wheels and hubcaps too.

standard tc = sunroof
spec-tC = no sunroof.

no tc's came with amp'd interior speakers. a couple of the RS came with a subwoofer, and i think the newer (09-10) come with a sub as well.

you gotta remember that stock head units have restrictors on them to help prevent them from being blown; as soon as i threw in an aftermarket deck the sound increased big time;

since it's the stock radio, hold down the SSP button and select something other than "tC" try xB or xA that mode will be louder. try that first.

Bad idea. SSP is just Scions version of DSP. Its the measurements of the interior of each vehicle for optimum imaging. Of course XB will be louder because the interior has more space. But the imaging will be off which kills the whole point of it.

wow, just wow..

in your quest to correct me you're still wrong. it WILL be louder regardless of your "technical correct answer" in regards to the image spacing. it's a stock system, you actually think that somehow the stock system, while good, is going to win any sound awards? lol.. seriously.

so my answer is still correct in that is why it was so low in volume. you want to argue the "sonic correctness", go right ahead, but the fact that the EQ has its adjustments way too low in db (decibels) for the tC, there is no reason any unit should be 3/4 or full just to hear it. and everyone here going back to 2004 can all agree with me that the tC mode was too low in volume!

must feel good trying to correct people on the smallest of points without regard to the big point, volume was too low. hope it makes you feel better to do that. lol

The whole point of SSP/DSP is for the correct measurements of the car (speaker location).

SSP has 3 EQ modes- none, hear (loudness), feel (bass boost).

Changing the EQ mode to hear makes more sense than the wrong speaker location.

Aaah...I feel better ;)

plug in all the connections .....

and to scion mich you need to tone it done, the stock system is actually quite nice compared to other stock systems, and where is your proof about the eq being too low in decibels????

and to whoever said no tc's come pre amp'd I'm not trying to be rude but the hu is the amp for the stock speakers, thats how most radios are these days, run off the pre amp in the radio they have to get their power somewhere
