the drop looks really good. not as low as the 2" springs like spys and not as high as the TRDs.

Looks like a 1 inch to a 1.5 inch difference in drop.......

just got back from adventon... great service, had the springs waiting for me. the guy there, george, also has a xB; great guy, we chatted awhile about various parts etc... he also gave me a killer deal on a TRD strut bar he had in the shop.

i'll letcha know about the springs (and the bar) on monday....

Looks like I am the first one to install these springs and I must say, I am kind of disappointed. The stock shocks do not work well with the new spring rate. The springs are less harsh (which is a nice change), but the shocks do not control the softer spring with enough dampening. Perhaps I expected too much.

The drop does looks good (1.75"+ all around). A bit more than I expected.

yeah the stock shocks need to be replace to get any real benefit or forgiveness for the lower springs.. also try a taller profile tire to compensate.

i hope this is not true... from what i understand the tein's have a higher spring rate then the stocks... so how could this be true?

did you do the install or did a shop? install might not have been done right.

Firstly, I am pretty sure I did everything correctly. The only reason I say the spring is softer is that the spring I took out seemed harder to compress than the Tein I put in. The Tein springs are also a little bit shorter which reduces the preload on the spring. I have not rode in any other lowered XB so I really don't have much of a reference, but I would have expected a tighter ride.

well i just drove back from installing the springs at my friends house and my first impression is great... especially considering my trepidation after hearing jomo's comments above.
the car feels much tighter and there is much less body roll. the ride seems really smooth too, which to me was surprising considering the tightness at lower speeds. no bounce to speek of (at least not more then stock).

i did install the TRD strut bar at the same time and it probably plays some part in the tight feel.

the drop is pretty low--more then i expected, but the look is good. can't imagine going lower, but i'm not a huge fan of the slammed look.

i'll put up some pics later this week when i get my rims on.

Hmm......Well, tighter is not what I have experienced. I too have a strut bar so I don't think that is it. This is my main gripe. When you do hit a bump in the road, the springs seem to overshoot on the rebound. I think this is because the springs have a bit too little preload. Almost like a cut spring. I think you and I agree, that the ride is smoother. The more I think of the way this car rides with these springs, I think it would ride better with a little more spring (preload) and definitely more dampening on the rebound. I think perhaps a non-progressive like the SPY 1.25" would have been the ticket. This type of design should have a higher preload which should result in less overshoot.
