There's a billion posts on this, do a search.

We had one in the xB I drove for work, it was a blast. We actually got it about 2 months before the actual release of the s/c and they did the install and everything.

If we had to pay $3000 for it and if I had to pay with my money instead of my boss' I wouldn't have sprung for it. Power gains aren't huge. More of a novelty than anything...don't expect to make your xB a fast car unless you're willing to do some serious work on your internals. Can only safely run about 6 pounds of boost.

Congrats on your new car. I love my xB, most fun i've had with a car for years.

The Blitz s/c kit is neat. The electronic clutch that controls the boost is pretty cool, and I have had no complaints with ours. It's not disappointing because I'm getting what I expect out of it.

Compared to a boosted VW, the xB is super slow. With forced induction, the xB is just plain slow. It's faster than stock, it's fun to drive, but don't expect a corvette killer.

If you know that going into it and you have the $3000 to burn, I say go for it! You'll have one of few boosted xB's, that's for sure.

it's on my list to do .i don,t expect to have a 20 second car but it would be nice .what abot that airmeter chip that's suppost to boost H/P is that bull or does that work.
well i have some money to burn but i'am going to take things slow i have to start on the rims and tires first.then the engine and ground effects.work and progress !

Those "performance chips" you buy off ebay for $30 are a waste of money and bad for your car. You can buy an identical little resister from Radio Shack for like $1. Don't bother.

The Blitz SC will show noticeable gains in torque, but the pulley system eats up whatever hp you would have gained.

i would rather go with the Power Enterprises Supercharger. Seems like the gains are much better

PE=122whp...Blitz=123whp

oops..my bad. i was told from the owners of the PE that it was better. is it true that you can get 10psi with the PE one?

dgHotLava
02-27-2005, 02:26 AM
yes, but its really, really, really.......really tricky to do...lol (plus, the motors don't seem to like that much boost)

most people that have the PE prolly didn't try the Blitz...and vise versa

That's what I was thinking...
How could adding the pulley to drive the s/c negate ALL the hp you'd gain from forcing extra air in? If you're trying to run 1 pound of boost, I could see that. But at 6psi you've definately surpassed the drag you've added.

BTW, roots type blowers are cool. 8)

I haven't driven a Blitz sc xB myself. I only know of one up in the mountains here in NC. I put my Power Enterprise PE300 on at 7500 miles and have had no complaints. The xB is a lot more fun to drive, also leaving Hondas is fun too. :P I just installed a header and got a 4 pound increase in boost. I'm hitting 8 pounds now. I have a full catback exaust and a ceramic header. I'm going to try to hit the dyno this week if the weather clears up. On 1/8 mile I shaved a second and something over a xB with an intake and that was before the header install. GT Motorsports in Cali where my kit came from put their xB on a dyno and went from 85hp to 129hp at the rw and 108hp to 164hp at the crank. This was with just the supercharger installed. Which ever SC you decide to go with may sure you get to drive somebodies or see what the other one is like. If your near NC I will be more than happy to take you for a spin. I'm in the middle of the state.

wow, i don't know how, but i am showing over 11 psi...(tested with three diff guages...(where are you taking your boost reading from???)
PE intake, dc header, tanabe axle back...boost guage is taped into the boost pipe 10" from TB)

did you do any internal work???
port & polish ???

matchbox
02-28-2005, 03:48 PM
No polishing yet. Did you tap your pressure side for the boost guage? Or use one of the lines going back to the fuel pump?

dgHotLava
02-28-2005, 06:44 PM
tapped the pressure pipe...about 10" from the throttle body...

you know how the pipes comes off the TB the turns up by the battery...halfway up is where i tapped it in...

matchbox
02-28-2005, 08:12 PM
Ok iI tapped it off the line going to the rear to the fuel regulator. Was your tap a threaded piece then barbed on the other? Home Depot sell it?

dgHotLava
03-01-2005, 01:18 AM
i drilled and tapped the pipe...then used the fiting that came with the gauge....

it was 1/4npt threaded one side...and a barb, ferral amd compression nut...other side..

but you could find these fittings at home depot / lowes.... just bring a bit of the boost gauge line(tubing) to match it up right...

you should be getting between 10 and 12 psi with a header...

are you guys running differnt temp plugs at all. i want to get the stuff i need to run the blower with than miss something and run Lean or too rich.

DG or Match box
what kind of fuel upgrades are you runnin?
any piggy back software or new computers?
is their any voltage issues, and what grade of oil and filter are you using?

dgHotLava
03-01-2005, 01:50 PM
i would recomend running the next heat range up for the plugs...but the plugs do not control running lean or rich. stock plugs will do fine....

the PE comes with a new fuel pump (upgrades to 130 lph)
emanage or s-afc will do what you want for controlling the motor...

voltage issues????

i am still running 5-30 (PE recomends 10-30, but as it is winter i will use 5-30 till it warms up...)

Just curoius.

Is that fuel pump a readily available PE part? Or is it perhaps a walboro? Cuz one of the things my greddy kit did not come with is a fuel pump (only injectors).

I did change my plugs and oil. I installed my SC the end of the summer when it was still a little warm out. I am changing over to synthetic this weekend. I just hit 10,000 miles and have had my xB for just over a year now. Patrick at PE said this would be fine for the SC. I have no voltage problems. I am running a 4awg grounding kit and have a ground voltage regulator installed. For fuel I would stick with the highest grade, I only run gas from BP.
I'm gonna go down to the meet this weekend on the 6th if you would like to see the difference.

i am coming up on 7000 miles...been running synthetic since 4000(just after installing the s/c)
new plugs will be going in spring time....
and super all the way...(super is recommended from PE)

So all of you are running the PE kit? What type of HP gains are you getting? I have an Xa so I'm more limited on getting a S/C, but by looking at the piping i think I can run a FMIC on this setup. Would that be feasible? Just wondering.
