Si is a bit lighter by 200 lbs or so, thats significant. The tC has the torque advantage. I think its reasonable to expect that a skilled driver in a manual trans Si could keep up with or even beat a tC driver in an automatic, especially on a course.
Two pretty evenly matched cars in a lot of ways. I would give Si the edge on handling and weight. The Si's shifter is also a dream to operate, it's got the best driver oriented cockpit I've seen on a car under $60,000 IMO. The extra 400cc of displacement is bound to give the tC an edge.
If Toyota had skipped the gimmicky roof and lost a tiny bit of the "Lexus soundproofing" they could have the tC at around 2800 lbs and it would be quicker and more nimble and a better contender vs. RSX, SI and the rest

Wait...did SI have a passanger with a camera and TC had no passanger at all? Could not make it out; there goes the SI's 200lb advantage. All in all 2 slow cars racing but still nice to know we have some good torque advantage.
