View Full Version : Topic Change: Who has worse drivers NY, NJ or PA LavaBox_v1 02-25-2005, 07:52 PM This used to be who was from Staten Island, but has now turned into who has the worst drives ... NY, NJ or PA CBSIMONSEZ 02-25-2005, 10:15 PM I dont think that anyone else will be willing to admit it, at least not sober. :lalala: sciongirl81 02-25-2005, 11:57 PM cause staten island S**KS!!!! :loser: Munch 02-25-2005, 11:59 PM Wow you guys are harsh  sciongirl81 02-26-2005, 12:04 AM i can trash on my boyfriend all i want. sciongirl81 02-26-2005, 12:26 AM ummm...no right turn on red...EVER!! wtf is that about?!?! Denstyr 02-26-2005, 12:41 AM you do have a point there Mike, but that's just to confuse you out-of-staters! LavaBox_v1 02-26-2005, 04:49 PM ummm...no right turn on red...EVER!! wtf is that about?!?! You can turn on red when it is posted. At least you can make a LEFT in NY! sciongirl81 02-26-2005, 04:54 PM oh please...you're just mad cause you have to cross a bridge wherever you go. lol. :silly: Souljah347 02-26-2005, 09:34 PM you do have a point there Mike, but that's just to confuse you out-of-staters! no no, thats what circles are for sciongirl81 02-27-2005, 06:40 PM :rolling: Souljah347 02-27-2005, 08:08 PM PA drivers are worse then NY drivers Souljah347 02-28-2005, 02:46 AM i drive pretty much every day between route 46 and 202. i'm on all the major highways almost everyday, i can say hands down PA has the slowest drivers. LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 01:54 PM PA drivers on Staten Island are worse then Jersey drivers and thats pretty bad! Chimmy3 02-28-2005, 03:10 PM ouch SIers getting it from the jersey crowd... (why am i think about pots and kettles...) Anyhow... I think we'd all go faster if jersey wasnt one big speed trap for us... oh yeah speaking of out-of-state drivers... what's up with not knowing how to merge on our streets. And taking all our parking spots.. :tap: LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 07:16 PM Yeah, jersey people drive in their own made up lane and then block all the traffic when they try to move somewhere! Denstyr 02-28-2005, 07:42 PM It's b/c we OWN whatever road we drive on!! or at least we think we do! hahaha I drive between states every week. Here is my opinion: NJ has the worst driving "rules", (jugs and circles) and some bad roads. NY has the slowest people (especially when in left lane) and alot of F-ED UP (major) roads. and PA is somewhere between. Oh, and NY has THE WORST traffic problems!!! DJIce 02-28-2005, 07:49 PM I can guarantee you that having lived in Philadelphia for 4 years at school, and having to travel through all three states in order to get home, Philly drivers alone give PA drivers the worst rep on the East Coast. Although NJ is a close second. Denstyr 02-28-2005, 08:02 PM I like the thread name change!! superjeer 02-28-2005, 08:08 PM That's easy. NJ drivers are the worst of the three. Or, they're just as bad but go even faster :). Ontario and Quebec drivers take the cake though. aurgh. Denstyr 02-28-2005, 08:26 PM Hey, it's not our fault all the senior citizens move here!!! You'd think NJ is the new FL, with how many seniors have recently moved here!! groundzeroxb 02-28-2005, 09:56 PM Are you guys crazy????? The Mean streets of Boston are the worst hands down!!!!! LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 09:57 PM Ill admit NY has the worst roads, Jersey people in NY drive the slowest and PA people in NY drive even slower if its possbile! MacMaster 02-28-2005, 10:00 PM hell yeah groundzero, that's why we're called m@##holes. Put MASS on that poll and you best be sure that they take the cake (I hear about potholes in Boston that if you hit them, you fall to a fiery pit of doom and you're never seen again!!) h82blgl 02-28-2005, 10:14 PM :nails: i sayyyyyyyy every freaking where Scionic_Librarian 02-28-2005, 10:36 PM Oh no no no.. Don't forget to add Connecticut. Mass may have shoulder driving bastards, New York and Jersey are pothole central.. it always depends which part of PA yer talking about.. But when you've got a state where everywhere is 45 MPH or less and everything is hush-hush.. My vote goes for Connecticut drivers. :P CBSIMONSEZ 02-28-2005, 10:53 PM Jersey drivers DO own the road. As a truck driver in this area, i can atest to it all. GET OUT OF MY WAY DAMNIT! :tap: BTW ... to get into NY, you need to cross how many bridges or tunnels? And where does that money go? Education? Road Repair? Environment? Me thinx none of the above. LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 10:58 PM all the tolls for the turnpike and gs ... where does that money go ... to fix your roads ... to make so that you can make a LEFT TURN ... I don't think so! CBSIMONSEZ 02-28-2005, 11:00 PM You really dont want to know where our money goes .... sciongirl81 02-28-2005, 11:00 PM SIX DOLLARS EVERYTIME I ENTER STATEN ISLAND!!! that's all I hafta say about that... LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 11:02 PM Its a sign ... All you Jersey/PA people stay off Staten Island! sciongirl81 02-28-2005, 11:03 PM :tap: well, i only have one reason for EVER being there in the first place... :lalala: CBSIMONSEZ 02-28-2005, 11:04 PM :tap: well, i only have one reason for EVER being there in the first place... :lalala: The lovely smell? OMG .... Just call me Snapple. LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 11:04 PM HA HA HA :P Souljah347 02-28-2005, 11:05 PM PA has the dumbest driving rules. IE: stop for right hand turns only. my buddy moved to hilltown/perkasie(spelling) awhile back when his mom remarried, and they have to dumbest rules. now he lives with his mom in newhope, and they just have some odd one way streets sciongirl81 02-28-2005, 11:06 PM :tap: well, i only have one reason for EVER being there in the first place... :lalala: The lovely smell? OMG .... Just call me Snapple. yep...that's it...you figured me out. at least i don't hafta drive to long island...now that would s**k!! LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 11:06 PM Atleast you can make a LEFT in PA ... LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 11:07 PM Yeah driving to LI does suck ... HAHAHAHA sciongirl81 02-28-2005, 11:07 PM is it really that important for you to make a left?! glitterboy 02-28-2005, 11:07 PM Someone should have added, "Indiana" to the poll question. LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 11:07 PM YES it is ... How else are you to get to the other side of the road ... MAKE A RIGHT! LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 11:08 PM Someone should have added, "Indiana" to the poll question. We all only drive in NY/NJ and some in PA ... Indiana is too far away! Souljah347 02-28-2005, 11:11 PM you don't need to make a left on a highway, it just causes traffic. jughandles are great CBSIMONSEZ 02-28-2005, 11:11 PM Yeah driving to LI does suck ... HAHAHAHA I dont mind it. Its kinda like driving and playing Frogger. Rapidly move around the slow ___ NY drivers to actually get some where. The extra toll ( $7 for the Verazano ) does suck, but loves worth it. sciongirl81 02-28-2005, 11:11 PM YES it is ... How else are you to get to the other side of the road ... MAKE A RIGHT! i guess living here all my life, i'm used to it. i mean...c'mon, you lived in florida!! florida driving is the worst!!! esp in the west palm beach area. LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 11:12 PM Yeah driving to LI does suck ... HAHAHAHA I dont mind it. Its kinda like driving and playing Frogger. Rapidly move around the slow ___ NY drivers to actually get some where. The extra toll ( $7 for the Verazano ) does suck, but loves worth it. The toll is $8! CBSIMONSEZ 02-28-2005, 11:13 PM Yeah driving to LI does suck ... HAHAHAHA I dont mind it. Its kinda like driving and playing Frogger. Rapidly move around the slow ___ NY drivers to actually get some where. The extra toll ( $7 for the Verazano ) does suck, but loves worth it. The toll is $8! On my Sleezy Pass, it shows up as $7. LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 11:13 PM YES it is ... How else are you to get to the other side of the road ... MAKE A RIGHT! i guess living here all my life, i'm used to it. i mean...c'mon, you lived in florida!! florida driving is the worst!!! esp in the west palm beach area. WOAH ... Forida has the BEST roads ... There is not 1 pot hole ... and its all SMOOTH. There are alot of old people down there and flippin canadian! sciongirl81 02-28-2005, 11:13 PM i hate traffic!! i haven't hit any going to staten island...only potholes. lol. CBSIMONSEZ 02-28-2005, 11:15 PM PAGE 3! i always wanted to do that. BTW .... Jersey is phasing out Circles ... they will be replaced with clovers. JFYI. sciongirl81 02-28-2005, 11:17 PM YES it is ... There are alot of old people down there and flippin canadian! i didn't say anything bout the roads themselves...i WAS talking bout the old people and the traffic. LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 11:17 PM Soon it will be no RIGHT turns also .. and you can only go straight! sciongirl81 02-28-2005, 11:18 PM then i'll never get back home!! LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 11:19 PM The traffic isn't that bad because 75% of the roads are 4-5 lanes in each direction + 1-2 turn lanes in each direction and you can make a LEFT! CBSIMONSEZ 02-28-2005, 11:20 PM  .... there will always be jug handles. It confuses the "out-of-towners" so they try to make a Left turn at the intersection anyway. This helps drive up our insurance rates. :tap: BTW .... speaking of circles .... im getting dizzy replying to the same 4 threads. sciongirl81 02-28-2005, 11:20 PM yea...someone decides to slam on their brakes and then, crash! excellent!! always love that. trust me, i was down there for a week and never wanna drive there again. and that was the dreaded weekend where i learned how to drive stick. CBSIMONSEZ 02-28-2005, 11:23 PM and that was the dreaded weekend where i learned how to drive stick. <insert dirty joke here> :lalala:  I kid, i kid streetstealth 02-28-2005, 11:23 PM o.k lava box im here to bail you out i too am from Staten island and will proudly admit it 1. jersey roads were designed by crack smokin oompa loompas because i ve never been in a state where making a wrong turn can turn into a 50 mile roadtrip out of your way. 2. but cheesecake factory rules so its worth the trip 3. jersey drivers on n.y roads suck because 2 jersey drivers will drive the same speed(slow) side by side on a 2 lane road while im fighting to get past them. 4. and the reason that new york traffic sucks is because we have so many people in such a little amount of space . the reason for that is because New York Rules  P.S lava box i think i met you down at valduccis one night gave you my card (Street stealth concepts) and told you i was buyin a tc that was like during the summer sciongirl81 02-28-2005, 11:23 PM and that was the dreaded weekend where i learned how to drive stick. <insert dirty joke here> :lalala:  I kid, i kid i knew that was coming too...just a matter of time. thanks sped! LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 11:25 PM Well there is one intersection in Pembroke Pines, FL ... The intersection of Flmingo Road & Pines Blvd was rated the number 1 worst intersection in the US. It has the most accidents. One reason being there is 5 lanes in each direction + 2 left turn lanes in each direction and 1 right turn lane in each direction. That is a total of 8 lanes in each direction ... sciongirl81 02-28-2005, 11:27 PM it's all scary to me...esp when i got off the plane and had to drive with my grandpa back to the dorm...my 80 year old grandpa who can't drive for anything and almost hit everybody!! LavaBox_v1 02-28-2005, 11:28 PM HOLLA HOLLA ... another Staten Islander ... WAHOO   Not sure about the meeting ... I live 30sec from Valduccic ... where are you at? o.k lava box im here to bail you out i too am from Staten island and will proudly admit it 1. jersey roads were designed by crack smokin oompa loompas because i ve never been in a state where making a wrong turn can turn into a 50 mile roadtrip out of your way. 2. but cheesecake factory rules so its worth the trip 3. jersey drivers on n.y roads suck because 2 jersey drivers will drive the same speed(slow) side by side on a 2 lane road while im fighting to get past them. 4. and the reason that new york traffic sucks is because we have so many people in such a little amount of space . the reason for that is because New York Rules  P.S lava box i think i met you down at valduccis one night gave you my card (Street stealth concepts) and told you i was buyin a tc that was like during the summer LavaBox_v1 03-01-2005, 12:29 AM O look .... NJ is winning the Poll .... with PA not to far behind and o look ... NY is last! Ha Ha Jersey Sucks! Denstyr 03-01-2005, 03:25 AM look again, 6 for NY and PA and only 7 for NJ... oneslowxa 03-01-2005, 04:34 PM I am in the south jersey/philly area... Philly has i76, from KoP all the way to the walt whitman bridge, and the extension from the blvd to the bridge ... its an awesome driving road... but sucks when we have people doing 45 on turns that i can clear at 90... PA has slow drivers... and traffic is getting bad...I also like how people speed to cut each other off, just to make it first to the light, too be followed shortly by another light (roosevelt blvd) Jersey sucks... the roads are horrible... I wonder where the money from the high taxes are going too...maybe the fund for out of state stolen cars?! Jughandles suck... i also hate when the driver in the left lane passes the guy in the right lane at 2 mph... oh and sometimes you can see your destination, but can't seem to find the road to get there... NY drivers aren't too bad... they are just fighting to make it across the 6 lane city street... some roads do suck though... i didn't know which is worse, philly or nj, i am leaning more towards nj... LavaBox_v1 03-01-2005, 05:28 PM look again, 6 for NY and PA and only 7 for NJ... Look again ... 6 for NY/PA and 9 for NJ ... You can't win! :loser: Denstyr 03-01-2005, 06:43 PM ok, I don't believe we have THE WORST drivers, though. We do have some crappy roads though, I agree. That's why I wanna get rid of my 19's. Remember, the thread has changed to worst DRIVERS, not roads! ;-) LavaBox_v1 03-01-2005, 07:33 PM The poll is who has the worst drivers ... That is why I got rid of my 19's ... I couldn't stand it ... It was soo horriable driving around Staten Island on thoes ... I had to bob and weav around every little thing in the road. CBSIMONSEZ 03-01-2005, 08:06 PM I tried telling all you guys here in the North East not to go any bigger then 17s for daily drivers. I was preaching this back when i joined SL, but does anyone listen to the SPED .... nooooo. :ttth: That is all. oneslowxa 03-01-2005, 08:58 PM I tried telling all you guys here in the North East not to go any bigger then 17s for daily drivers. I was preaching this back when i joined SL, but does anyone listen to the SPED .... nooooo. :ttth: That is all. on the stock 15's, the xa is not driven too slow =D js202035 03-01-2005, 10:53 PM Massachusetts drivers are really bad. (I'll admit I can be a pretty crappy driver sometimes.) Where else can you drive on narrow streets, in the break down lane on the highway and have 50 million random rotaries? Denstyr 03-01-2005, 11:34 PM I tried telling all you guys here in the North East not to go any bigger then 17s for daily drivers. I was preaching this back when i joined SL, but does anyone listen to the SPED .... nooooo. :ttth: That is all. ummm... you didn't tell me b/c I didn't join until AFTER I bought it... That is all. :gun: LavaBox_v1 03-02-2005, 04:16 PM Yeah I got my 19's at the dealship ... After like 3-4 months on them I had to get rid of them ... I didn't join this site till after I got my box with the 19's ... So who did you tell this to Sped ... CBSIMONSEZ 03-02-2005, 07:31 PM PAGE FOOOUUUUURRRRRRRRRRR! I told this to anyone listening. Let this be a lesson, listen to your SPED. :P LavaBox_v1 03-03-2005, 12:00 AM All bow and listen to the all mighty sped .... CBSIMONSEZ 03-03-2005, 12:17 AM All bow and listen to the all mighty sped .... They were doing 50 in the left lane and everyone was passing them ... AND they would NOT move out of the left lane ... My proof that jersey people can't drive! Denstyr 03-04-2005, 07:09 PM My proof is I was in West Chester, PA today and the only people that were driving the speed limit or over were NJ people. There was like a train of 4 NJ people doin' 70+. I don't know if that constitutes "knowing how to drive", but it made me happy! LavaBox_v1 03-04-2005, 11:17 PM I guess I just got lucky and got stuck behind 3 a-holes and they all happen to be from Jersey! CBSIMONSEZ 03-05-2005, 12:37 AM ^^^ See, we do that on purpose, cause we know that it drives you NYers nuts. Actually, its probably some one who moved out of the arm pit of the world called NY, and now takes up residence in my state .... NJ the Great. They were visiting relatives on the Island. sciongirl81 03-05-2005, 02:26 PM Lol. Just get over it Mike! :P Chimmy3 03-05-2005, 04:37 PM ^^^ See, we do that on purpose, cause we know that it drives you NYers nuts. Actually, its probably some one who moved out of the arm pit of the world called NY, and now takes up residence in my state .... NJ the Great. They were visiting relatives on the Island. oh man thems fightin words... alright no offense but I'm tearin into this one... NJ the Great? puh-lease... NJ is just a big NY suburb and beach (oh yeah and garbage dump)... lol man I so wasn't going to jump into this thread but what the hell... no one would live in jersey if it wasn't for "this armpit". This is the best city in world, no ever lists the reasons why NY is better than jersey.. b/c no one ever needs to.. its simply a fact. When was the last time you tried to make a case for NJ being the better state? and had people take you seriously? or not laughed outright? Sure, you "stole" our football teams from us (and then curiously they went down the tubes), but when teams move states... they usually drop their old state from their name... hmm funny how that didn't happen.. and its been how long? I'm sure NJ people rag on us all the time (and why not there's a lot there) but you all know... secretly.. you all want to be here, because it ALL happens here. Well, except for them southern jersey folk... who we only visit on the way to 6 flags. lol and I'm sure you guys block us on the roads on purpose... that's what jealousy does to people Disclaimer: no jersey folk were harmed in the writing of this post. firesquare 03-05-2005, 05:50 PM no no no you all got it all wrong, I never experenced any PA drivers but after movin down here. the North Carolinians cant signal, they all drive Lifted trucks, mostly. and you wont beleve this most of the people that live here in Wilmington, use to live in NY and NJ so how bout that.................................................... LavaBox_v1 03-06-2005, 12:50 AM Thats right chimmy  rep NY! ... NC is a redneck states ... of course they are all gonna drive Lefted trucks ... Its all mountians! firesquare 03-06-2005, 04:37 AM there no mountains by me, just flat land with flat no turns roads, very boring to drive around. the mountains are out west and it snows in that corner. We just had a thunderstorm today. it hit 70 today. wind gust reported at 64 MPH today. now its goin down to 33 tonight LavaBox_v1 03-06-2005, 07:47 PM I think its pretty much offical that Jersey Drivers are the WORST ... Jersey has been in either 1st or 2nd this whole thread ... and now they are in first ... GET OFF THE ROAD JERSEY PEOPLE! quiksilver24r 03-06-2005, 07:52 PM Not sure about NJ or PA, but you see the thing about NY drivers is that for the most part they drive high end cars, and we all know that paying $70,000 for a Lexus LS470 also buys you a ticket to driving like an @$$hole. Oh, and that race car ultra tight suspension handles excellent on the Belt Parkway. Like I said, I don't know how to compare NY drivers to NJ and PA drivers, but if you wanna taste of damb@$$ rich people thinking they own the road, come visit beautiful NY!!! Sponsored by the NY Bureau of Tourism koasterking 03-07-2005, 12:27 AM To me, because i live on the west side of the state, i think PA has the worse drivers! New Yorkers have no idea where their goin, but then again i get lost easily in this state. PA have no idea where their going AND they drive slow. They'll be in the left lane doing 5-10 under the speed limit......AHHHHH CBSIMONSEZ 03-07-2005, 02:49 AM NJ is the place to be. Denstyr 03-10-2005, 01:10 AM NY is the more popular state but we all know that the Jets and Giants both play in NJ, and the Statue of Liberty is actually in NJ... We just don't get credit for anything... CBSIMONSEZ 03-10-2005, 01:40 AM We just don't get credit for anything... Sure we do. We ( NJ ) managed to get NY to change their plates. If you remember back about 8 or 9 years ago, they had the red statue of Liberty in the center? NJ took NY to court, to prove that the statue is indeed in NJ. Now NY doesnt have the plates anymore, and you can order one in NJ with the statue on it. NJ wins again. Chimmy3 03-10-2005, 03:46 AM actually.. you have it wrong... according to this.. NY still holds the statue ... nj just argued that they have the rest of ellis island that was built upon the landfill. http://pbisotopes.ess.sunysb.edu/lig/Conferences/Abstracts98/Swanson.htm in fact what that technically means according to the supreme court is that NY owns up to the original part of ellis island... and NJ owns the rest (larger part). But if I'm not mistaken, the lady actually sits upon the original part. SO you guys should stop trying to sell your delusions... you may own the greater part of ellis island.. but its all actually garbage. WE own the important part. I believe the law suit was technically to show that NJ owned a part of the expanded ellis island (since it lay over the original set upon border)... and NY's stance was that we owned all of it. The statue itself was never in question. There is of course stil disagreement on where the NJ part of Ellis island should begin. But that is why there is now a ellis island NJ and ellis island NY. And I'm pretty sure the law suit had little to do with the changing of plates... Plate designs DO get changed every so often you know. CBSIMONSEZ 03-10-2005, 11:21 PM Me thinx that the garbage part of the island is also related to the other island .... Stinkin ..... i mean Staten Island. Chimmy3 03-10-2005, 11:32 PM lol alright I'm gonna call a truce to the turf war... cuz I don't really want to continue raggin on jersey... Yes SI is a landfill... then again so is most of lower manhatten... anyhow... topic at hand... I'm starting to hate PA and FL drivers in NY... every time there's a minor traffic jam ... there's always one of them holding things up... CT should've definately been included in this survey (aren't they part of the trio in tri-state?), but I don't think I would've voted for them ... for some reason I never see them around here (despite being relatively close) , and the ones that do come down seem relatively competent. CBSIMONSEZ 03-10-2005, 11:50 PM Some things to take into consideration .... it is cheaper to register and insure a car out of state. Most NYers have their rides registered in SC .. NC ... FL ... and PA. All the NJers that cant drive, they moved out of NY and into NJ, but still cant drive. |
