Default Zefoxe's Christmas Themed Auto-x Setup lol

My new auto-x setup:
Ultra Racing 23mm Rear Sway Bar
Tokico Reds - HTS Adjustable Shocks
Tein S. Tech Springs
I say its christmas theme since the shocks are red springs are green and sway is white lol
Althogether I spent about $750 on the whole set up and the car handles like a dream now. I would definately recommend this setup for anyone looking for coilover perfomance at a spring and shock price or budget minded auto-x'er. Also, its an extra .5 inch drop from the TRDs.
Only problem I've found is due to the design of the car. You have to remove the wiper motor and cover everytime you want to adjust the shocks in the front but its not that big of an issue as this can easily be done in about 15 minutes and can be done in the pit before an auto-x event.
When making adjustments on the shock its recommend to turn the adjuster all the way to the full hard settings and turn to soft to adjust from there. For street driving I would recommend 3.5+ turns to soft fron and back. For auto-x I would do about 2.5-3 turns to soft in the front and 2-2.5 in the rear. You will want to keep the rear stiffer to kill that mean body roll associated with the xD.
If your interested in the setup, talk to Garm over at Micro Image, he has a sale on the Tokicos and its a great price!

this includes a sway bar which a set of coilovers can never improve on and i have the shock adjustment of coilovers. My only loss is not being able to adjust my ride height and for another $200 dollars to accomplish that, it seemed quite pointless

I've been toying with the idea of coilovers from megan, (its that or a properly done 50 shot of nitrous) thanks for the info on the wiper cowl. What a pain. The tc's wiper cowl can easily be cut with a hole saw for easy access, the same may be possible on the xd but its require cutting some sheet metal too, or is the motor assmy right above it? Also, is that tow hook the one from microimage?

yea your going to need something to cut the metal, I probably going to give it a shot with a door **** drill bit one of these days so its in a nice circular shape. but if u do get coilovers with the adjuster ***** on each of them, i feel u can honestly get away with being able to adjust them without the removal of anything as long as theres a notch on it to go by. there is a enough clearance for ur fingers between the cowl and the strut tower, not enough to get the adjuster from Tokico on though :*(
The tow hook is from Micro Image. Garm can get it power coated to your liking for a little extra if you dont want the blue or red

I tried ordering the hook a while back, they refunded my saying they couldn't get it in stock at the time, may try again. I like the blue, goes with my lugs. I just took a look under the cowl edge, I see what you mean. Looks like maybe an inch of space. The big hole cutter looks like it would work if yours needs a special tool. The megans are a knurled ****, I could use a white paint marker to index the ****.
