Default Problems Starting tC

So this just started yesterday....I go to start the tC...nothing...turn the key again...Starts...WTF!
This morning the tC starts fine...I go to the store, and when im about to leave...mid start the tC just stops...im like "ok?" I turn the key...nothing...turn the key again...nothing...turn the key one more time...finally starts.
Get to work, I park...turn the car off..wait a couple seconds..try and start the car again...nothing...try again...starts.

When i bought the tC Toyota installed this stupid "Must use blinker to start your tC" crap. I Am thinking this is now causing an issue 6 years later.....I will attach some pics of what I think is the little relay...I am wondering if it's as simple as just unplugging it to remove that stupid feature...any clues?

True...I am just scared that if I unplug it and try and start the car it might go into some freaky "Theft" mode and then not start anymore or something HA!

Sounds like a strange version of a killswitch? I have no idea what could fix it though, sorry.

I called my local stereo dude, that's contracted with toyota, he said i can't just unplug it because toyota has wired it through the system, but since he's contracted with toyota i can go to him and he will remove it for me.

Seems like a scam to get money out of you...Just pull it out and give it a try.

Well, the relay was bad..pulling it just made the car not start at all. So they had to re-wire it for me without using that stupid relay thing, that Toyota installed. Everything is working good now...and they did it free of charge since I know the owner =o)

Yea no need for one of those imho with the fact that we have transponder based keys. You can try to mess with the ignition/hotwire the car all you want but without the transponder key there the ecu wont allow the car to start.
