Default 17" how bad is the gas???

I am about to trade my 15" oem scion wheels for 17" ADR wheels how bad is the gas going to be. I can get about 350 miles to the tank thats mixed driving city/highway. I just don't want the gas mileage to suffer too much..

i drive pretty economically compared to most, 17's, im filling up right about 310 miles per tank now. yours will probably go down, but not by too much. a 2+ drop on some decent wheels makes it all worth the gas mileage loss. handles much better too.

Don't forget to account for overall tire-circumference change. Your mileage might not be going down as much as you think (and since taller tires = taller gears, it's possible that it's going up in certain circumstances).

If you keep the overall diameter of the wheel(which you should) then there should not be a difference in milage. There may be a slight difference due to tires but other than that there is no difference(in a steady state).

That, and in steady highway driving, heavier wheels are not actually a detriment. I get about 1mpg better on the highway with my steelies over the 513s with the same tires. On the other hand, my in-town mileage went up with the 513s, too, because I have less rotating mass and thus less inertia to overcome.

Rotating mass is what kills the gas mileage more so than difference in height. While steelies aren't exactly super light wheels, I'm sure the 17s will be a tad bit heavier. Best suggestion I can offer, compare the wheel weight with tire. An overall 5Lb. difference is going to be noticeable... but not by much.

The ADRs are nice, but IMO, I wouldn't get rid of the steelies.

I'd say go for it. Not a huge fan of the ADRs, but you could use those to get better 17s.

are they damaged at all?

I'd say go for it as long as the rims are not damaged...

you may end up losing a few MPG... I got 16's on my box right now..and I've never broke a 30 MPG tank
though..I dont drive like I'm trying to save gas either

Mileage will suffer...but you will look good doing it!

I was getting 32~33mpg with steelies and 95% freeway. Went to 17's and get around 24~25 street/freeway. Used to get 310+ before fill, now around 275 ish.

And that's with 45psi!

I have decided not to do it. I just replaced the tires to OEM wheels like a month ago...they guy just informed me that the front tires are ok however the rear needs replacements...so no go ...and no deal

I don't think you would have noticed the MPG difference much anyways if you had done this deal....but going from the stockers to the 17s would have definitely given you a harsher ride quality.
