hi.

just out of curiosity where does everyone put their amps if they want it to hide.. i have 2 amps wondering where i can put it so that i dont leave it in the trunk on the back seats where they are currently mounted i want a cleaner setup where none of the amps are showing and wires.?

and i have a infinity reference 8" 860W subwoofer 250 watt rms 1000 watt max for sale brand new i used it for 1 day and didnt know my gf bought me a boston acoustic g3 for my birthday .

Depending on the size of your amp you could fit it in the hub of the spare tire. I cut out a circle of MDF that fits perfectly in the hub, covered it with box carpet and attached my amp to that. The wires then run directly towards the front of the car via the little hole that is right there under the rear middle seat next to where the tire sits...Only wire you can see is the 6" of speaker wire that pops out from under the floor mat thing to the subwoofer itself. Clean set up

I've got a 4 channel amp wedged into the space that b52hDUNN is showing. I had to take a knife and cut away some of the foam on the spare tire side.

I made another small cut in the foam on the rear bumper side so that my computer would also fit in that same compartment. It's about as good of a place as you'll be able to find without making a rack.

I had it in the same place as the pic above but the amp did get distorted a little bit not sure if it was from the heat or putting something on top of it.

Did the amp distort in any other locations? I seriously doubt that you caused noticeable distortion with overheating.

I have my 2 channel (Clarion DPX 1000.2) AND 4 channel amps (Dual XPA 4100) mounted on the right hand side of the spare tire. I had to orient them in a / / type of way but they fit well and are both what I would call full sized amps. You need to custom cut out the foam tray (but leave some of the vertical supports) to act as bracing so that when you put everything back together you can use the space above the amp for cargo storage without everything collapsing on your amps.

I've had no overheating or distortion problems in that location and I live in the 808 state (HI). although the grounding point has some soft hissing in the rear speakers from my 4 channel (but it could be bc of the junk brand amp) =/

i've got an '08, so it had the stock sub. i removed the stock sub box so that the space to the right of the spare was completely empty. i got two amps and a cap to fit there with no issues or wires showing.

.....i do need to fabricate a support for that side though, but oh well.

I made 2 cutouts on the shape of the foam cubby tray, with 1x1 pieces in between. I don't have pictures, but there are small spacers lifting the amps from underneath with 12v fans with cutouts underneath for air flow. I've done 9 hour trips in the summer without using my AC and they've never shut down from overheating

Had mine in the spare tire well, built a new floor panel out of mdf with a hole centered over the amp and a computer fan in the hole blowing air down onto the amp. No problems with heat anymore :)
