What wire is it that turns on the dome lights when the doors open?
I am doing a mad lighting project on my car, and I am trying to figure out which wire on the dome light is that one that turns the dome lights on when the doors open?

Use this thread. Is meant for lights under the side mirrors but uses the same "dome" wire, will accomplish the effect you are after.

Question: I am trying to wire a whole LED/Cathode setup to my whole car.
According to that article, you just hook up your grounds to that one wire, and the lights will turn on, but I am hooking all my stuff up to switches so I have control over them as well....
So my question is, how do I wire it so that the LED/Cathode setup will turn on when the doors open without having to flip the switches everytime to let them turn on?

 

a relay and diodes to control reverse current/voltage. you dont want to blow up your car just for lights, never a good thing.

 

Any link on where I can get a relay for this so I can do this?

 

I looked at all the links and dont see a mention of this dome light switch. Am I missing something? I want to use it to trigger a relay for some door puddle projectors...
