From what I can tell, the scene here is quite small. Most of the action is down in KC it looks like. I'll be down for a meet up as long as it doesn't fall on a track day...so that probably means some time in late fall since summer is crammed with track time on the weekends...although a weekday meet would be sweet....hmm, will have to see if I can work that out....

So far I only know Un4Scene who I have yet to meet in real life. From his photos, he has some pretty sick taillights on his tC...

Yeah I've definately noticed that it seems nobody really seems to care about scions or do anything to them out here

What is your schedule like this summer/fall? Would you be up for meeting on weekdays? I'm going to see what the other Omaha guy's schedule is and perhaps we can do a small meet up.

I'm definitely down to meet everyone, but I'm pretty much always out of town during the week, and only home on select weekends. That is the sucktitude of my job, and what I sacrfifice to have enough money to play with my car. So, if y'all wanna schedule something I'll be there if I can, but I can't make any promises. I am going to the show in KC this weekend though. I'm working in North Platte this week, so I'm gonna have to bust @$$ home to get my new coilovers installed on Friday night so I can take off on Saturday morning. If anyone wants to join me for the weekend I'd appreciate the company!

On a different note...
If y'all need any work done on your cars, I reccomend Sublime Speed Technology/In Phase Car Audio (same shop - near 132nd & L). They've treated me right so far, and done good work for me. Plus, those guys have a few Scions of their own, so they know what they're doing. I stopped in there yesterday to see if they were making an appearance at the KC show this weekend, and they didn't even know about it. Hopefully they'll be able to put something together despite the short notice.

I also stopped by Performance Scion of La Vista. The woman that's listed on here as being in charge of Scinergy Nebraska apparently hasn't worked there since last year. Somehow I doubt they're doing anything with our local branch. I guess we're on our own as far as that goes.

I hope to see y'all around, and let me know if you wanna hook up to go to the show this weekend, or want any help working on your cars!

Yeah, I went to Sublime when I first got here to check them out. They have been pretty good so far. One of the guys drives a pretty sick tC.

Stop up and check out the TC. I currently got the interior out to put a full cage in. (Let me know if you know anyone that wants to buy my system. Designed for the tC with 5.1 surround sound.) We decided to build the tC for SCCA STU class. Hopefully I will have it on the track by next season.
Let me know if you guys need parts, parts installed or help with installs.

What exactly do you do that has you traveling so much?


I've actually had the majority of my tool collection stolen twice now. I'm still trying to rebuild it after the last time, but I have a fair amount to work with. Since I don't have a compressor and I don't work in a shop anymore I don't have any air tools, but I still manage to do most of what I need to. I do have a garage for now, but I may not by the end of summer, as I'm in the process of moving. I still love to work on cars though... except oil changes. I hate doing oil changes.

I work as a railroad contractor now. I normally do ultrasonic testing on the steel in the tracks, but here in North Platte we have a prototype system for testing the steel train wheels. The company is based out of Lee's Summit, MO (Southeast KC area), so I'm down there fairly often. When I'm working close enough, I drive home on the weekends. Unfortunately my location changes constantly and unpredictably.

nice thanks! id assume its a dyno jet. the place i went had a mustang dyno and i was surprised i put out good numbers on it while running 9-10 afr =/. ill have to give them a call sometime thanks again!

E85 takes a little longer to start in winter months. The car responds to the E85 very well under full boost though. Daily driving is fine. Plus its safer to run on the stock internals too. I have a lightweight flywheel and ACT clutch which is messing with my idle, but that doesn't have anything to do with E85 we don't think. I will be getting it tuned on pump gas here soon though since last winter was horrible.

very nice! i dont know where my dyno sheets are. i just recently moved to the north side of town and i cant find anything lol. i did have my numbers posted up on a local forum here but i cant find the thread. well yes im running the aem fic, like i said The Shop Inc. did the best they could so they said to tune with it but i think they could have done better. i was running just 91 plus 100% methanol injection. ran 9-10 lbs boost. i could go for a better tune cause i took the meth kit out. still runs 9-10 afr[which i thought taking this out would even out better but no]. ive had no problems running what i got. oh i have the ___ dezod s1 kit. my header is cracked from wear as well as the downpipe. i cant complain for how much it was and what i use it for. ive put 20k+ on this kit and its still holding up. as of now its just parked casue i have no recent tags on it lol. ive decided i want to run a diff turbo set up but dont know which one yet. internal parts are my priority first as of now. i wouldnt mind gettting the block sleeved but im not shooting for over the top powa. i figured id get some K1 rods weisco pistons and im straight. yada yada.

Yeah I thought it looked like the s1 but wasn't sure. Cracked manifold and dp? Ouch. I don't have any plans to upgrade my internals. It's my only vehicle right now so I don't want to push it too much. I like the way my car runs now. Just gotta fix the idle issue. Which Sublime is waiting on my harness for the Haltech ECU so they can put that in and tune it to fix that issue and then I will be running on pump gas again.

haha no im just a very generous boyfriend lol. plus shes prego and what not. its safer to drive the scion than our 91 amigo. lol. when i met her she had a vehicle but she got rearended, lost that car. she got the amigo but she hated driving it. i let her drive the scion prior to this. then when winter came last year i just let her drive it. its been in a few incidents. shes SUPPOSE to help pay for what needs to be fixed but who knows. lol. i feel bad for my car but in the end its just a car. =[. she hasnt let me down yet! but im fixing her up and getting more stuff for her and its gonna be garaged. =].

I'm afraid I do not have a stock bumper or hood. I would offer my hood since I need an excuse to get a C-One CF Hood but I drive an xA so I don't think it'll fit.

It makes sense what you're doing for your gf, I'd do the same if I was in your position.

so basically you are all stock. that seems to be about right for those times. even with a lsd you were still having trouble? thats no fun! what were you launching it at? there are only two LSDs that i know of that are made for this tranny. quaife or OS giken.

Do you need anything special to do the drag there? You just show up and go through tech and that's it? How much is it and for how many runs?

its $10 for spectator and $20 for unlimited drag runs from 7pm till midnight. Just show up, pay, go through tech, and run as many times as you want.

i think you have to have a helmet at MAM as well too. ive never been on the track there.

Most, if not all of the muscle car drivers were wearing helmets. Myself and a handful of other drivers were NOT wearing helmets. I asked the tech about helmets and he said it isn't required on Friday nights for the street drags.

what a waste of money. i wouldnt let anyone ride with me on the track. thats extra weight i wouldnt want lol only way id let anyone ride with me on a track is for tuning purposes only lol. i dont even live that far from omaha and ive yet to ever hit MAM. im so lazy =P

I stopped caring about being the fastest a long time ago. It's all about the fun factor for me. Once I got a chance to ride/drive in a bunch of cars to see how unique they each are, I learned that speed and fast times has nothing to do with how much fun you have. I have the lowest HP car out there on track days (~110HP) but everyone who has driven it came out with a smile on their face (including myself). It could be that my standards are low too, lol =)

what kind of mishaps? I don't see anything externally in that first photo you posted. Was it all internal mishaps?

well first, last summer on the way to work at my old job i ran into a ditch. gravel road is the only way to get to it, bald tires yada yada. wasnt even going that fast but there is this nasty hill on this road and they just put fresh gravel out that morn. like i said ran into the ditch. shifted the driver side of the hood over about a 1/4in not really notice able. scrachted it a bit and so as well as the front bumper. also that winter i got lightly side scraped so there is a small 2 inch long dent and a few scraps. then the gf scraped the wheels and broke the back truck latch but just got that replaced. yada yada. ever since i hit that ditch the srs light stays on so i must have broke one of the sensors so got to get that replaced. mechanically the car is great! other than turbo mani and downpipe cracking from wear. just gonna get the mani welded and find either online a 3in down pipe or just get one made dont know yet. she could go for a retune since the cracks are leaking exhaust so the afrs are a little off.

so far i love the xD. I enjoy the smaller car versus my last bigger car. it is a 2009 the only thing I really want are rims. oh and an armrest.

There's not much to fuss about. There's a neat burger chain called In-N-Out but that's about it. Lots of smog and too many people...I don't think I ever want to live there.

in n out is awesome! first time i had ever ate it! and yeah there was way to many people and everything moved way to fast. lol i mean shoot from the border of cali all the way to the shore on the highway the speeds were 90+ in rush hour, it was quite scarry especially since i had no clue where i was going.

Hey guys what's up? My name's Jason and I have a 05 tC. I'm glad to see some omaha people up on here. The scinergy chapter here is pretty weak. We've got a facebook page, but the dealership doesn't have a Scion Champion right now, so I don't know what's going on with it. The few people that were in the club are now at http://www.syntheticedgeonline.com/ We're having a get together tonight at the Ihop on 15th and cornhusker at 9pm. Not just scions, but I think there's like 4 or 5 tcs now and a xd, not sure if any of you are already in it, i don't know everyone.

The scion people are also planning to go down to Pinups on the 16th and 17th if you're able to make it.

don't worry about it. We get together about every friday night, but next week some of us are heading down to pin ups. I might be there because I have to work saturday, but then i'm heading down Saturday. A trip to Lincoln might be a hard sell, but I'll try.

no, i dont have new tags and i have no license still. hince why i WILL not chance driving to omaha. also i live literally 5 mins from work so i drive my beater there. scion is always parked in the drive way or i sneak it to work time to time.

no its not actually, apparently i had a traffic violation ticket back in 08 i forgot to pay for so they suspended my old out of state license[alabama license] i got pulled over in april one night and they told me i was suspended so i took care of the ticket but now i have to send 150 bucks to alabama to reinstate my license. just havnt got to doing it yet. =[. everything has been hectic ever since april lol and now i have a baby so money is kinda tight. hopefully this next check i can get my license and legally drive on the streets lol

haha damn! yeah i called nebraska dmv cause i thought nebraska suspended it but they didnt. they said i can go get a license so i try [this was back in april] and get it and the damn system says i cant so i was like wtf and the old fart was a dick. so i call alabama and they tell me its nebraska but in the end it was alabama that suspended it and of course the person on the phone was being rude. the only way i can pay to get it reinstated is to send a check to montgomery and with a specific letter to the department if not they will send the check back. go figure. lol effing states man.

Hard to say... I think there's only 5-10 of us on SL, but I know there's a lot more that aren't.. I've been talking to the people in the "Synthetic Edge" car club (thanks SilverSurfer!) and there seems to be a quite a few Scion people around that either use different boards (ClubSciontC for example) or don't use the boards at all.

Sweet man, why the move if you don't mind me asking? You're going from beach weather to cold wintery conditions....I'd go the other way, well the west coast...I like the east coast but it's a bit different...

Other than that, I have a bunch of stuff done with my interior, sound, paint, fabric, lighting..all that fun stuff. In fact, I think the first non-points event in the area is today in Lincoln. We also have a new Nebraska chapter of Scikotics that's just been started in the last couple of weeks. So far, I think it's just all the Scion guys from Synthetic Edge, but we're looking for more members, naturally. By the by, there's a few of us that are planning on hitting up The Tail of the Dragon this summer! Wish us luck!

For anyone interested in Synthetic Edge: SE usually has a casual get togeher every Friday at a different restaraunt. Anyone is welcome at these, members and non-members. The time and location is usually posted on the FB page and in our forums. We usually get about 15-20 people each week. They are family events, so you're more than welcome to bring your significant other or kids, or whoever else you want. We have a few members that live in the lincoln area as well. If you "like" the FB page and introduce yourself on the forums, then Chris (president of SE) will make sure that you get in on the info about the meetings and such.

Update on the car show: we've been talking to the people at Shadow Lake Towncenter (that's the big new mall at 72nd st. & Hwy 370) about using the parking lot. If all goes as planned, we're gonna try to get Old Chicago to do a beer garden, and we'll have at least one band. We're shooting for a day time car show, band playing while the cars are judged, and then a night time glow-off just for fun. Sort of an all-day event. Being at Shadow Lake means that there will be plenty of restaraunts and other distractions around to keep people busy as well. We have a website up for the carshow too. It's not much yet, but it will be updated as we get the details in, and pre-registraton for the carshow should be starting soon.
