Default Using Infinity Kappa 50.5 and 5x7 in 05 tc

Hello all,

I have a question about upgrading my speakers. Have stock everything. I recently found these Infinity Kappa (2)50.5, (2) 50.5 crossovers, and (2)572.5 from a previous car I had. I know the sizes on both the front and rear are 6.5.

So my question is this, would it be worth it to buy the matching tweeters that go with the 50.5's and install that even though these are smaller speakers? Also Is there a way to fit the 5x7's in the rear if it is worth it? I am looking at this in a price standpoint. The cheaper the better. If it's a good improvement over stock then I will go for it. One more question. To make this even cheaper, would the stock tweeters suffice for that setup? Or would there be a big difference between stock and the kappa tweeters?

Thank you for your help in this matter.

It can be done, but will take a bit of work. You'd need to fabricate adapters for both front & rear, which some would consider fairly easy, it just depends on one's skill level. Stock tweeters could be used, but it's not possible to determine how well the Kappa passive crossovers would integrate them with the mids, without knowing their topology, measuring or listening to the set. Not sure how much of an upgrade it might be from stock, but if you really like the sound of the mids when used in your previous car, then it might be worth your time & effort. HTH!

Great. Thanks for the info. Hmm, well I have seen suggestions to get baffles to fit aftermarket speakers. Guessing a baffle could be shaped to fit those speakers? Anyone have pricing on getting something like that done?
