i went to get an oil change at the dealer and i asked how much the TRD lowering springs are to install, he said 600 bucks becuase 6 hours of labor. i can get the springs for about 120, but spending 600 on install? are they really that hard to put on? can you do it yourself? any info would be awsome! thanks in advance

Hell no!!! I did mine myself and it took me an hour using my friends shop and tools. I think they are trying to jerk you around or something. I would look into it more.

Dude, the dealer told me the same thing.. You know what I said ??? "Well f*ck that!" (Yes, those were my exact words) Thats where they make an ___ load of money off of us... I installed my TRD's myself, and Im no mechanic. Its easy!!!

Your gonna need a spring compressor of some sort.

And I'm fairly sure you can rent those from some places... they aren't the nice spring compressors that dealers and shops have... but it'll work.

I just installed my springs yesterday.. Just read the Tech guide here. Took me 2 hours with a jack/stands, and I didnt use a spring compressor. It was all easy, nothing was to hard to do, and ive never modified a car before

I just did mine today...I was laughing at how easy it was.
Time consuming, espeically since I don't have a shop, and
I was being extra carefull. But I did my springs and new
wheels in 1 hour 45 minutes. No issues, and I LOVE the
ride the gold lines have.
