I wouldn't even give that "rendering" a passing thought. There's no telling who did it or how old it is or what it was supposed to be. It's very possible Autocar just paid someone for a drawing they did 5 years ago.

Another reason I hate seeing "rendered speculation" stories on sites like Autoblog and such. The name says it all... SPECULATION. No one ever knows for sure.

"Hey, I just thought up this imaginary car and made a drawing of it... here's what it will look like!!!"

I think that rendering fits in line with their current styling and would make a decent RX-8 replacement... but I don't think it's very RX-7 like at all. :)

God forbid they designed something better than that constantly smiling front bumper. :lol:

^^^god i hate you right now! makes me wish i still had a pic of this one kid in a honda few years back; was at a car meet up in bloomington, il and kid had a leaf blower hooked up to his intake for more 'air power' lol :tongue:

It think its fake. Mazda announced a few weeks back that they were going to stop production of the rx-8 due to the lack of sales. That and they said they were making more room for more four to five door models. Anyone can take that already given information and start a rumor. But I do remember SS or modifed talking about an rx-7 replacement, I just doubt this is it.

I'll believe it when I see it.

yup...oh and good riddance to the rx8..sorry but that car is a POS..I hate everything about it.

I've seen rumors floating around with this for several years now. Personally I think it'll just be like rumors of the new Supra that will just eventually die.

Not getting my hopes up. I'd probably end up preferring to have an FC or an FD anyway.

It might have been myth busters but I remember their was a show on TV that proved a leaf blower will increase the power of an engine but only by a few ponies. I don't have much hate for the RX8, it is a great driver and can seat four adults comfortably.
