This may sound odd, but is there anyone out there riding knock off spokes? I love the idea of mixing old school style with such a wild looking car.
Thanks to all.
Thanks to all.

DJ_X_Trodinaire 02-28-2005, 06:39 PM someone here has them on a BCP daytons MNxBGUY 02-28-2005, 09:43 PM I'm rollin' on replica wheels. What rims do you have in mind? They would have to be dayton. I think a set of chrome hundred spokes would look pretty good. PandaIst 02-28-2005, 10:02 PM Have you seen Mr. Cartoon's xB? I think it's really tight. Old school lowrider look.. http://gallery.scionzone.com/albums/album03/01_Mister_Cartoon_xB.sized.jpg MNxBGUY 03-01-2005, 03:28 AM WOW. That is exactly what I had in mind. j0n 03-01-2005, 03:10 PM but the thing about knock off's is u gotta always keep tightening them an gotta keep the car under the speed limit when on the freeway cant really go fast wit them Max2k 03-01-2005, 06:09 PM WOW. That is exactly what I had in mind. You should see the interior, it's sweet beyond belief. MNxBGUY 03-01-2005, 07:37 PM I like the seats but I think all the carpet on the dash and steering wheel is a little much. Im not a big fan of it even in a true lowrider. mikem53 03-01-2005, 07:40 PM but the thing about knock off's is u gotta always keep tightening them an gotta keep the car under the speed limit when on the freeway cant really go fast wit them Good advice... ask yourself if you can really afford cheap wheels? I like to race at various driving events with my Z06. I know two Z06 owners who had problems with repro wheels. One problem occured at the track when the laps were over, the driver noticed two majors cracks in the wheel just above the hub. The other one had his wheel crack while driving home from work. He did use his car for driving events and must not have noticed the wheel was cracked. He almost wrecked his car when the wheel gave way and it caused some serious damage to his car. Make sure you buy wheels that are up to the task and the standards of the manufacturer.... Lonely_Raven 03-01-2005, 07:40 PM Not my style, but I love the work that guy put into that old skool box. Old school lowrider look.. http://gallery.scionzone.com/albums/album03/01_Mister_Cartoon_xB.sized.jpg It puts a new twist on the classic bombs from the 30's and 40's. j0n 03-01-2005, 10:45 PM and i was goin to go wit knock offs but im goin to go with some wire wheels or spinners because i do like speed but i still wanna keep my roots in the lowrider movement since im a big enthusiast an and mostly around the scene but in all the box is sweet but yeah the dash covered in velvet kinda throws it off but its a good look an it does display that bomb look an its got bag's which looks like hydros from the back an those colored rims are tight which makes it an eye catcher = eyekandi Djbombsquad 03-02-2005, 10:00 PM Can we see the inside please. j0n 03-02-2005, 10:11 PM http://low-forum.com/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi/ikonboard.cgi?s=d622653e42632d32a62018da2cc285e4;act=ST;f=23;t=10532 this is from an old discussion but its basically the inside an out view of this box which is pretty nice jct 03-02-2005, 10:16 PM or are you gonna use real knock off rims??? with only the one big ___ lug??? how many wings are gonna get 2 or 3??? cingham 03-09-2005, 10:36 PM i have some Racing hart/Axis Fh23's 17's knock offs...people can't find these any more and i can't get a trade for what i want anymore...life is good FrankenScion 03-09-2005, 10:53 PM I wanted to put black spokes on my box but the maintenence for a daily driver was too high. Tmanion 10-28-2005, 04:27 AM Are Daytons exempt from the high maintenance or do all wire wheels need constant attention? I'd really like to put some Daytons on my box hotbox05 10-28-2005, 04:52 AM that car looks sooo ugly in real life. i even got to wax it a bit. yescadog 10-28-2005, 05:14 AM all wires need to be maintained unless it is a bolt on... knock off should be tightened every hundred miles for the first 500 miles then tightened about every other week.... . a lot of maintenance goes into wires. plus a lot of tireshops won't carry due to possible leaks from the spokes and silicone. |
