Just got my Megan Headers for my Box...What's a fair price to pay to have them installed?

30min to an hour.. so less than $75 IMO.

Why not try a DYI with using the tech section. Save yourself some money.

you can honestly do it yourself... if I can do it (i'm mechanically inept) you can do it!

Do it yourself! If not, I wouldn't pay more than 60 bucks to get it installed... Shouldn't take more than two hours...

A few of us had one of our header bolts strip on is. If you skim through my tutorial, you'll see the infamous bolt head fubar...

Thanks to all...I regret that I don't have the tools nor the place to do the work..I like "Hands on" myself, but, not on this one.....

If your in Hotbox05's area (Sacramento), I'm sure he'll do it for you. He's got a megan header on his box as well, so it won't be anything new to him.

Are these headers really worth the cost or is this just another 3-4 HP gain that cannot be felt? What is the real reason for replacing the stock exhaust manifold? Someone out there who is more knowledgeable than me should be able to handle this one.....

Yes, i've had to go back to stock cuz of a smog ref and omg it is soo much slower , man I hate stock , lol.

Do it yourself easy to do. Took me 30 minutes.

how do u like the headers? i have the same ones and was wondering if yours make a whinny / hissing noise... not the noise when its leaking air tho...

No noise that I can detect. Mine goes through a TRD muffler which is now louder than the stock manifold, but not too loud - just right! It sounds perfect to me. The engine is definately more responsive and "punchy." Everything went together easily. The only difficult part was those damn spring-loaded bolts! When those things finally cracked loose I thought I broke my damn tool - Whew! :relief: They were tough!

You got a shade tree around. Pull it underneath and do it there. That's how easy it is to do this. Spend a couple bucks on tools and your good to go.

can you install this header without even going under the car?

NO. You have to get under the car to undue the hardest part - the two spring loaded bolts that connect the front pipe to the manifold. They are a _____ - really freakin tight :cry: - but with a breaker bar , WD40, and some leverage they will crack :crazy: loose.

Think it's hard to get those off on an xB... try to get the manifold off a 2.4L Cavalier. My beater is in the garage getting a new header because the flex pipe broke. Pulling the manifold was a PITA!

between $75 and $100
