Hey guys...

I was on my way to E-town today in my 2006 tC and a semi hauling hogs tossed a rock up and it hit my sunroof deflector.....shattering it. I need a new one. The really bad part was that I didn't notice it till I got where I was going....and never would have imagined the damage it caused.....so I never got a tag number or anything.

Does anyone happen to have a spare...or know where I can pick one up for less than dealer price?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You all can respond here or e-mail me.

Thanks so much!!

I would be calling my insurance company. Info on the other guy or not, they should still be able to help.

That is of course assuming your deductible is not outrageous.

Check out junk yards maybe they have a totalled tc but it wasn't rolled.

You were on the way from KY to E-town NJ ? If you are then maybe you should drive up to queens, NY i belive and right by the mets SHIA ( i think SHIA it's called) stadium there is a big big junk yard and they sell car parts for pretty cheap down there maybe you'll get lucky.

Take it to the dealer to see if it qualifies for the recall.....

It should be the last recall on that page

The "recall" - though not actually a full recall, as the website incorrectly states - was actually just to prevent it from shattering into 11ty-billion pieces and falling on your head through the sunroof and applied a laminate to the back of the glass. It has nothing to do with preventing it from breaking completely. Glass breaks. ____ happens.

I know this because I had to have it done on my tC.

Thanks y'all...

Since I have a deductible of 1000 dollars......:lalala: and the fact that there doesn't seem to be a salvage yart within 500 miles that doesn't want to jam it up my ___......

It looks like I'll be paying the 511 dollars to have the piece installed tomorrow at the dealership.

OOF.....

You're the second person I've seen this week with a $1000 deductible... OMG. No f'ing way would I do that. I'll pay a little more each month to be able to afford to pay that when I need to. :)

My comp deductible right now is $200 + $0 deductible glass. Collision deductible is $500. Chances are someone else is paying that one if I ever have to use it.
