I have an 07 Scion TC and I put aftermarket fog lights in and they use a 15 watt fuse however it keeps blowing, i tried putting a 25 watt fuse and it blows out also, any suggestions as to why this happens?

Remove negative terminal from your battery, replace fuse, then connect negative back.

Your fuse is blowing because there is a short circuit in your wiring somewhere. A 15 amp fuse is plenty to power typical 55 watt foglight bulbs. Never increase the rating of your fuses unless you know for sure that your wiring can handle it and that you do indeed need more amps. 25 amps x 12 volts = 300 watts. 2x55 watt bulbs = 110 watts. Disconnecting the negative battery terminal is advised for performing electrical work, but will do nothing to solve your fuse issue. HTH

Either the install is bad or the product is bad.

I had the same issue before with mine. Check the wire terminals on the relay they may be corroded, just take a wire brush to scrape the corrosion.Thats what had happened with mine and I kept blowin fuses.

x2.

my advice would be to remove the wiring youve installed, check it over, then reinstall it. and make sure you unhook the neg terminal before you do anything. Also, have it all back together before you hook the batt back up.

also don't ever put a bigger fuse in because a smaller one blew, that is good way to start a fire.

I also have a question! My tc used to have hid fog lights at 12v and 35w but one ballast went out and now i just wanna replace the bulb with the stock wiring without the ballast. i found some yellow bulbs at 12v but 100w, will that work or no cause the watts are too much?

I personally think that 100w is a little much..

This may help you with a decision:

I want to install HID's in my winjet corner fogs.. but unsure of ballast placement. plus i have i think its 35w PUTCO yellow bulbs in there nowthe out put is pretty good but considering my low beams are 8000k HID's but appearance is great.

Here are some photos of what mine look like:

Hope this helps in some way

I had this issue also where my 15watt fuse would keep blowing. Removed everything and re-do the install. There is a short somewhere also double check your ground.
