Scion xb fog light grille?
After i intalled my injen short ram today i noticed that the filter is right next to the left foglight, if i opened this up it would be a ramair/coldair type of deal, but i dont just want a huge hole, anyone make a replacement grille for it? or will i have to contruct my own with some chickenwire type stuff. thanks in advance!
I did not see any out there, so mine are personally engineered (home-made). Still
have to make some ducting behind it to direct rain water over the filter to keep it from
soaking the filter, but I think it came out pretty good. You may not have to worry
about this, as yours is a short intake, and mine is the AEM and the filter is all just
below the fog light opening. Click on car on left to see my cardomain site, page 3... If
it looks OK to you, I can give you more information. I can also provide better pics if
you are interested, to help you make your decision. It is made from the same type of
stuff as the original grills (strong and unbreakable).

Thought I would get a close-up of it posted quickly this morning before work. I
blackened-out everything behind the grill (as I am going to do with the other grills),
and painted the edging (it is not easy taping around the grill). So, what do you
think? More info if you want! Remember, it is personally engineered (home-made),
as most of my mods are, if at all possible.

check out my link and scroll towards the bottom. the short ram comes out right behind the fog light. since i dont have fog lights i was able to use the cover. you will have to register, but it is free
I've been planning the same thing!
I'm going to buy the middle grill and chop it up so it'll fit into each fog light hole. I'm thinking about what I want to do for rain protection, but I'm thinking a fine screen behind the honeycomb to protect from rocks and bugs flying into the filter.
Edit:
Here's the thread I started last weekend.

Any tips or hints on how to attach the honeycomb grill to the bumper?

I didn't think I would have any input, so I didn't open it. If you recess it, there are
stops to keep it from just falling through the hole. If the grill is curved around that lip,
(it wants to stay straight) it holds itself in pretty good, but I did put one small screw
just in case (hole would be hidden if you put the fog light cover back on. Junk yard
grill can be found. Buying the grill from Scion to chop up may be quite expensive, but
if you insist on matching the other grills, then that may be the only way to go.
Otherwise, I still have some material I made my grill out of. Let me know, and we can
work something out.
I make them out of stock black foglight covers so that they fit perfectly in the stock position. This also helps with rain and car washing issues, as you can just pop out the drivers side one, and slip your old one in (takes but a couple seconds).

Here is a close up showing my K&N:

I've got a few more sets on the way to make. If anyone is interested let me know.

Koality - it looks like you've got a good match as far as the mesh goes. Looks really good! I'd like to clarify how you've attached the mesh. I'll send you a PM
KingLou, now that's a great idea!
Are you just cutting out the center of the fog light cover and gluing in a mesh?

After seeing all the other options, if you want to pursue my type of fog light grill, e-
mail me. There is a lip back in there, (you can see it if you take the cover out. and
the grill rests against that, and it is curved, so the grill is bent to match the curve
and slid in. But the grill wants to return to its naturally flat state so that pressure
keeps it in. But just in case, I drilled one small hole through the grill, and into the
plastic fender, and put one 1" screw. The hole will be covered if I ever go back to the
covers, or install fog lights. Let me know, and Happy xB'ing.

that black on white one looks real nice- is that indeed a black foglight cover hollowed out and with a mesh attached? if so, i might rock that out on my tcm i'm getting next week
