I am going to have to put new tires on my 2009 xD. The size of tire is very hard to find, so I was thinking of putting 205/55R16 on it. The tire shop was trying to sell me Nokian entyre. He said that they are designed to get better gas mileage and I can expect to get 1-3 mpg more than with the stock. Anybody have any experience on if this is true or not?

i dont have any experience tire wise, but you might want to check out and see how you getting better milage. chances are its a harder tire that'll wear a bit faster than stock and may even effect the ride/performance. but thats just my thinking

Look on Tire Rack or Discount Tire, you won't usually have problems finding tire sizes there. As for MPG+ tires, Goodyear and Michellin take those top spots.

I got some Kelly Fierce tires size 205/55/16 for my replacements. Really like them. They have a unique tread and my road hazard was free. I like my air pressure at 35 psi instead of the 33 psi that is recommended.
