View Full Version : My XB will be mine on friday!
Lander 03-02-2005, 03:14 AM Hi All
I am getting my first new car on friday all because of Monstor Garage's Rock em Sock em episode. I plan to do some upgrades as soon as I get is and I wanted your input cus you guys know what's up. I'm going for performance and I'm not looking for a crazy loud exhaust.
These are the upgrades I plan to do as a result of reading posts and reviews here.
Ingen intake
Tein s. Tech Springs
DC sports carbon strut tower bar
Greddy evo2 cat back exhaust
TRD Shocks/struts
TRD clutch
TRD Spoiler
TRD quick shifter
Pursuit Alarm w/ starter
All wraped in silver.
Are my selections OK? The stuck ones for me were the exhaust and the springs.
Sciond 03-02-2005, 03:21 AM I would go with a Directed alarm product IMHO
987KEITH 03-02-2005, 03:22 AM congrats man! I just picked mine up yesterday (had to wait a few days but it was worth it), and ordered my tanabe 2" springs today haha less than 24hrs since purchase and I'm already (as the parents would say) "messing with it".
Lander 03-02-2005, 03:22 AM Oh, and the alloy wheels from the factory.
LiquidXB 03-02-2005, 03:25 AM Congatulations and good luck with the new box. Good selections.
Lander 03-02-2005, 03:29 AM Thanks for the replies. I can't sleep!
I'll check out the Viper 800 ESP alarm. I have to tell the dealer tomorrow which upgrades they will install.
bB2NER 03-02-2005, 03:34 AM Pass on the factory alloys they are a ripoff. For about the same money you could get some 17s with tires.

Pass on factory wheels...the Evo2 isnt a cat back..its also super quiet...you should check out a different short shifter like TWM. The strut bar is nice...I have the same one! Also maybe look at goldline or tanabe springs for a more aggresive look!
Lander 03-02-2005, 10:35 PM Hey Mr Danger
The Evo2 is avaliable in cat back  Maybe it's new? The scion salesman told me about it. Check out these links

or

I'll check out the springs.
Lonely_Raven 03-02-2005, 10:49 PM Congrats on the (soon to be) new box!!
I'd definitly do as much aftermarket stuff yourself rather
then through the dealership, as much as you can afford.
If financing is the only way, then at least do the wheels
yourself rather then through the dealership!
If you want a little bit better Viper alarm then the 800,
I have an ESP 550 which is a higher end one, but discontinued.
I bought it for my Porsche but never had it installed...the
Porsche got stripped of everything to reduce weight, so I
never used it.
Research the Viper ESP 550 and if you are interested,
drop me an E-mail or PM.

I can assure you it isnt cat-back...my friend got one its only axle-back. Also every site will say its cat-back but I assure you its not. I believe the only cat-back out right now is the magnaflow.
Also to prove my point...look at your second link...right under the Scion xB 2004-2005 it says "Note: Only rear section"
Lander 03-03-2005, 12:43 AM Awe Snap! You're right.
Magna Flow it will be. Thanks
Lander 03-03-2005, 01:24 AM Ok, A big question about lowering the xb. I looked at the tanabe with the -2.2" front and -2.0" Rear, the Tanabe SUSTEC DF210.
I am a musician and carry around a PA and other gear to gigs which can weigh a lot. Do I have to worry about bottoming out with these springs? :tap: I chose the Tein s. Tech Springs out of caution.
TheDanger 03-03-2005, 01:52 AM You should be fine...that what the bumpstops are for. If you are too scared just try really slow around bumps with stuff in the back. How much does it wiegh? I have my sub box back there and I drive around fun. Also look in the tread and butter section for a thread about DF210s. Hope im helping ya. Oh yea honestly you dont need catback with these cars. Save your extra $200-250 for other mods and just get Axle-back.
Lander 03-03-2005, 11:25 PM The equipment I,m guessing will be around 300lbs for a big venue.
The difference between the two exhaust systems in $140. I plan on eventually installing a supercharger and I am guessing that the performance with the cat back from Magna flow will be better? I think it has larger diameter piping then the stock exhaust. I'll check and if it doesn't, I'll go with an axle back or if the diameter will not change performance.
I'll also read on the springs in the other section of the forum.
Thanks for the replies
