Default AC Blower Fan Inop?

Hello all,

I have a 2008 tC that was recently in a wreck. Not too bad of one, just a fender bender on the front passenger side. About 2-3 weeks after my brother wrecked it (ughh...) the ac blower fan would start acting funny. The ac was working perfect but the fans wouldn't turn on (happens whether the ac is on.. heat.. .anything) but sometimes it randomly comes on for a few minutes.

So... short maybe? I don't know. Just wanted to know if this is a common occurance in the tC? Or what you guys think it is?

Thank you,
Jeremy

common occurrence? the car was in an accident. so that's not something that's common. but for your accident it's any number of things that went wrong. The tC's blower motor is the same as the last generation celica, and they had a problem with its motor bearings dying, clicking, ticking, etc. Then it would get louder and the motor would have to be replaced. That is one of the design flaws of that fan. That more than anything is the common occurrence.

you should check the electrical connection on the bottom of the blower fan, and the related relays, fuses. also could be the hvac controls on the dash, they control the fan as well.
