Hey everyone, I just wanted to know if anyone else had issues with their engine mount snapping on them so suddenly. I bought my box brand new in 2006, and the mount located near the alternator snapped out along with the mounting bolts which completely sheared off.
I took this into the dealership to have it looked at, and of course I had to complain about something this odd for a fairly new vehicle. So far Toyota has investigated the matter and its looking quite probable to investigate further into.
As to the costs, because my warranty had just finished recently, I ended up paying for this unnecessary fail. The motor actually leaned on an angle and the lower pully's had scrapped the lower support areas.
When they fixed the mount, I suddenly have more issues to deal with, the engine lights came on you know the infamous "VSC, CHECK ENGINE & TRAC" And now I got a Cam oil control valve to fix. Could this be a coincidence or could have been caused when the mount broke? I did remember when the mount initially broke, the motor was close to stalling, and that would have been because of the pully's not moving freely as it was grazing on the lower support areas. But as to that causing for the oil control valve not to function.... who knows?
Anyone has any suggestions or experienced similar issues?
