Scion ~ A descendant or heir. www.dictionary.com
Being a by product of Toyota, this is a suiting name. Scion is the descendant or heir to Toyota.
As for xA, xB, TC. No idea. Anyone want to enlighten us?
I've heard that TC = Toyota Celica and they are stopping production on the celica and the TC is it's replacement, but I don't know if that is true.

xB is rather reminiscent of bB.

Bb stands for Black Box. I think when they brought it to the US, they thought using an X would attract more young buyers. Cuz you know that if you put an X on anything, 18-25 yr olds just have too have it.

I think xA was the just logical counterpart for the xB. I don't know what ist comes from, maybe just the english suffix "ist" as in scientist. It has a ring to it.

Scion couldn't use xC since it was already used by Volvo. xA, xB..... xC would have been the next. Instead, we get tC. I like it better anyways...
