Default 2004 xB Rotors stuck like chuck

Hey guys, I was doing a brake job for my buddy who has a 2004 Scion xB, got the caliper and pads done no problem. The problem is that the rotors will not budge. I checked out the write-up (helped alot BTW), it says you do not need to remove the big nut on the end of the axle, is that correct? I've tried beating the rotor with a rubber mallet, with a regular hammer hitting between the lug studs, PB Blaster etc. Am I missing something very simple here? How the hell can I get these rotors off?!

If you have the caliper off, then you just need a bigger hammer!

it should slide right off, there isnt a retainer nut on it...

This happened to me the other day. Spray it with WD40 and hammer the _____ out of it. Then replace the rotors.

make sure the caliper and brake pads are removed
then
use a BFH (big F'n Hammer) (like the arm and hammer logo)
and hammer from the back side towards the outside

If I remember the 2 holes between the studs are threaded so you can push them of with a couple of bolts check this DIY and pic below, cant remember what size. Beating the F out of it can damage your wheel bearings

They are the exact bolts you remove from the caliper , you should have gotten new ones with your brake pads.

So what do I do to get it off if I don't have a bigger hammer? I'm going to try again tomorrow, I guess for now I'll pick up another bottle of PB Blaster and spray the hell out of it. Would heating it up with a propane torch help it or would I be running an unnecessary risk of burning/breaking something?

I did this about a month ago, and the 2 small holes on the rotors of my '04 xB were indeed threaded...

maybe, but I did do new pads (napa ceramic pads) on mine today, and those holes were threaded, looked like just a standard 10mm to me, if I had been doing rotors on mine I wouldn't have had a problem, they both fell off when I took off the calipers

*shrugs*

I know for a fact that I had the Toyo factory rotors on the car that came with it in 2005 when I drove it home... the only mainteance that Toyo has ever done were my first three oil changes, when I got my clutch safety switch replaced (under warranty) and an oil change at Toyo of Des Moines... thats it...

I just did my rotors 2 months ago, my right front was just like yours, stuck. I had to beat the hell out of it to get it off. It eventually came off, threw on the new rotors and pads. A small hammer wont work, a larger mallet would be better a small chunk of 2x4 and a regular hammer should also suffice. Hang in there and don't let it beat you
