amoraes 03-03-2005, 12:46 AM Hey, sorry I can't help... but I'm thinking of getting the Weapon R SW intake as well. When you install, could you post some pics of it installed? And, also let us know how your tc perfoms with the intake!
Thanks!
Swanny 03-03-2005, 12:49 AM I'm gonna be installing mine in a couple days also. If someone could post some pics for this part of the install that would be great. Seems like this question has been asked a few times, must not be explained very well in the instructions. Thanks ahead of time.
th3s3x 03-03-2005, 11:41 PM come on guys, i know someone out there has installed this intake and knows where the bracket goes
duston831 03-04-2005, 12:28 AM lol, i asked the same thing tuesday, lvnurs tried explaining to me where it goes and sent me a pic of hers (though you couldnt see the bracket) and i went try to hook it up tonight.......... and it is now resting on my desk lol i have no idea how that thing goes in
lvnurs9 03-04-2005, 12:43 AM I will put some pics up in a couple hours for ya :) ima go eat real quick
phillyflint 03-04-2005, 01:36 AM i mounted mine to the front of the intake and to the second hole where the stock box was located, you have to use one of the clamps that came in the kit. on the bracket there are holes on one side and a lip on the other, put the bracket lip around the clamp and tighten it to the front of the intake. then bend the bracket to fit and tighten it down. hope this helps a little
lvnurs9 03-04-2005, 02:46 AM Hope these help. You have to bend the bracket some to get it to fit.

Swanny 03-04-2005, 03:52 AM Cool, thank you guys very much. Those pics are perfect. Can't wait to put mine on tomorrow, I'll take some pics of the install. Thanks again!
UCSDPinoy 03-04-2005, 05:58 AM So still no pics of the WHOLE install? Like ummm... the stuff haha :P
lvnurs9 03-04-2005, 11:17 PM what kinda pics you want? its as simple as taking the old one off and putting the new one on lol.
Swanny 03-05-2005, 02:13 PM I just did my WR SW intake install yesterday and everything went great. The whole install only took a hour at most, I was taking my time also. I ended up mounting my bracket in a different spot with the supplied hardware. I took a few pics.
I made a 90 degree bend in the bracket 3 inchs down from the top and the hooked it under the strap connecting the filter

I screwed rubber mounting bolt thing (tech term) into the bolt hole closest to the motor from one of the factory airbox bolts. Then I connected the backet to that using the lock nut and washer.

This makes for a really nice install. I took a bunch of Pic's so I'll soon try to make up a quick how to. Hopefully this helps people with this install.
Gambit7 03-06-2005, 07:27 AM Swanny, has yours' thrown a CEL yet? Just wondering if you got one of the newer intakes where the problem was fixed.
duston831 03-06-2005, 04:14 PM no more cells on the weapon r intakes.......... as long as its installed correctly (which isnt hard at all)
Swanny 03-06-2005, 04:59 PM Gambit7
No problems here. Mine is one of the newer intakes. I think the CEL problem with this intake is a thing of the past. The intake really makes the tc pull harder in the higher rpm ranges. Sounds awesome with the TRD exhaust also.
duston831 03-06-2005, 05:15 PM anyone know where we can purchases the cleaning kit thing for the air filter? preferably someonewhere online?
phoenixtc 03-06-2005, 05:25 PM My Weapon R will be here on Wednesday. What are you talking about when you refer to the cells.

CEL = Check Engine Light
bambams247 03-07-2005, 01:38 AM It doesnt come with instructions? I am about to purchase it and would really like some detailed instructions and pictures specific to the tC? And p.s. how can you tell if its the new one or old one?
UCSDPinoy 03-08-2005, 07:27 AM Ok I got my intake, stupid UPS delivered it to the wrong address. Anyways,, it does come with instructions, but they are very vague, and its a Xerox copy, and half of it is faded. didn't make a good copy i guess.
But anyways, i can't wait for that 'How to' for this intake, i'm hoping that Swanny can get it in before my spring break
I can't wait, i'm hoping that it will make a difference even though i just have the stock exhaust and an auto. :tap:
oh, any of you know how much improvements the Ram Air Intake Kit will add to the SW intake?
