So I am adding a sub to my stock scion navigation system. I bought a RCA output converter and removed the stock sub, took the wires that was connected to the sub and attached it to the RCA converter.. The aftermarket amp is installed and running. The problem is I'm not getting any sound out of the sub, I checked and everything seems to be wired correct. Does anyone have any help or advice?

Ok here is what I'v done with my system.

I'v got the stock nav unit like yours and the rca converter I use is the Scosche SLC4,

I wired the converter to both of the front speakers and turned the gains on the converter up.

Post what line converter you have and someone here may can help you out more.:)

silent dan: how did you wire it to your speakers? also do you think it would work if i tapped into the rear speakers and hooked up the adapter through there?

alright so i have a GS audio HL 250 line out adapter, i believe this is it, mines just has a diff case.

Yea it will work with the rear speakers to, I just instaled the converter behind the radio and used wire taps to tap into the front speakers from the back of the radio harness.

The wires you will need to tap into is these

Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Red
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): White

and give the converter a good ground if your converter has a ground wire.

If I'm wrong adout the wire colors plz post the right ones, I did a yahoo search for it and this is what i found.
