Default New To Scion... but love to go fast.

I decided to check out the Scion forums to find out some information about tooning these cars and engine mods. So far I have not seen anything on performance cams just turbos and superchargers.
What engine management system is available for the XB? I currently use the Predator on my other ride.. its very user friendly but not sure if they are available for Scions.
Cant wait to see posts..

The phrase, "new to Scion but love to go fast" is a paradox in and of itself. lol

Tuning your car doesn't get you too much. It all depends on how fast you want to go.

If you want to go really fast (400 hp/355 whp), turbo is the way to go. I am still debating if I'm going to do this to my xB, but if I do, I'll have to either rebuild my transmission or switch it to a manual one. The money factor is what I'm debating, because that would be around $10,000 to get everything done. Not sure if I want to sink in that much money in my xB.

There is a supercharger, and that gets you a little past 200 hp. We're pushing about 150hp/125whp now, so a supercharger is a nice upgrade.

Then there are bolt-ons. I/H/E mods are the easiest and get about 20 additional hp.

The ONLY way to go "fast" with a scion is turbo.

thats a cool idea.. but lots and lots of work to put a V6 in this car.. especially rear drive... ^^
I'll look around for more info on engine management stuff... i saw two companies selling turbos... guess thats the way to go.
Thankss for the tips!

was going to start a new thread to ask this, but figured this would work. went to my local muffler shop to get a magnaflow put on my '11 xB before i lower it this weekend and cant get it on the rack. Cut muffler off, mounted magnaflow....nothing. No sound change what-so-ever. Cut muffler back off, started up wagon.....no sound change. THe catalytic on this thing is huge and cuts down all the noise before it even makes the muffler. Ended up just putting the stocker back on, and putting the magnaflow on my 90 hilux. wtf though?? just not going to be the same without a little rumble at least. Any thoughts?? i cant cut the cat off either, have a lifetime warranty with this car and dont want to screw that up

only time they can void your warranty is if something happens to your car and when you go and try to warranty it if they trace that problem with what you did to the car thats when they void it, otherwise you can do what you want with the car with out voiding the warranty.

IE. blown shock, if your on lowering springs they can void that, another example. sayy cracked header, they can't void that because of your lowering springs. you catch what im saying?

for your exhaust though?? can't help much with that. sorry

Whoops, sorry. I forgot that the supercharger was discontinued.

If you want something to invest interest in, ScionFred here is working on his own turbo kit if he gets enough orders. It's a basic system that pumps 5psi, so you're looking at returning the results of the TRD supercharger methinks.

Follow him on the below thread.

I've pretty much written off the idea of competing in the XB2 turbo kit market but I do believe that if you can live with ~250bhp from your 2AZ engine, you can do so without the added expense, hassle, inherent problems and cost of a full featured piggyhack like the AEM FIC. The $3000 Descendant tuner kit appears to be ideal for a 5-6 psi setup with 440cc injectors and a very simple 3-wire connection Split Second Enricher module.

The KISS method can still work even with ULEV OBDII cars... Keep It Simple Stupid.
