I know people can run 225's with out a problem and I believe I have heard of xD owners running 245's with fender lip rolling. Could some 235's fit with after-market rims without modifications being performed and could the car still be lowered?

yeah you could run 225s but they would run a little bit slower on your speedometer

i ran 9.5" wheels all around (~237mm), you should have no problems running 235s as long as your wheels sit around +35 offset. you may still need to roll the rear fenders for clearance depending on how low you are.
