View Full Version : Fuel Light? How many Miles remaining? westsype 02-06-2004, 04:50 AM So when the gas light is lit up How many miles do you have til your empty? ShadowMage 02-06-2004, 05:05 AM I believe I remember someone posting a while back, can't remember who, that when the fuel light comes on you have about 1.5 gallons left in the tank. cowboy 02-06-2004, 06:02 AM it has to be more then 1.5 gallons. when the light comes on, i go about 40-50 miles before i fill up and even then i only am able to put in around 10.5 gallons. so i still have around 45 miles left when i fuel up, plus the 45 driven with the light on, so my guess is there are about 3 gallons left when the light comes on. korbendalis 02-06-2004, 06:04 AM The Search function's really, really cool search: miles+tank http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3194&highlight=miles+tank http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3600&highlight=miles+tank http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1635&highlight=miles+tank hope these help westsype 02-06-2004, 06:09 AM its so cool that it brings up 100s and 100s of topics. rbloedow 02-06-2004, 06:12 AM its so cool that it brings up 100s and 100s of topics. Actually, if you knew how to use the search feature correctly, you could have put in "miles AND tank" and gotten a whopping 23 results! Yes, I know it's hard to not be lazy, but look on the bright side, it's also MUCh quicker. highend 02-06-2004, 06:54 AM Actually, if you knew how to use the search feature correctly, you could have put in "miles AND tank" and gotten a whopping 23 results! There's probably gonna be a lot of people asking old questions on here because the cars just came out nationally- so what? Its not going to kill anyone to re-answer old questions or to not answer at all. There's no need to be a dick to people cuz they don't use the search function. o4_USDM_bB 02-06-2004, 07:00 AM welcome to any forum, man... the vererans get really tired of answering old questions, and the n00bs naturally ask the old questions. its a vicious cycle. Djuan 02-06-2004, 09:26 AM thats a dangerous game... I prefer not to find that one out the hard way... but I've been traumatized By the way, whats up with the gas prices, they are going through the roof again !!! CBSIMONSEZ 02-06-2004, 01:06 PM ummmmmm, being a newbie, i saw this orange xB once, i was wondering where i can find it, and how much? hnefrdo 02-06-2004, 05:42 PM welcome to any forum, man... the vererans get really tired of answering old questions, and the n00bs naturally ask the old questions. its a vicious cycle. can't blame anyone for not knowing wut hasn't been taught to them. an FAQ for this site may work out? o4_USDM_bB 02-06-2004, 05:48 PM but I've been traumatized By the way, whats up with the gas prices, they are going through the roof again !!! i know what you mean... i hope they don't skyrocket higher than $2 a gallon again by summer. DibujoB 02-06-2004, 05:58 PM Gas prices out here are nuts. I went back to the midwest a few months ago and was shocked at how cheap it was. its_ikon 02-06-2004, 11:59 PM there is no reason to jump all over new people. just post the searches you find. being part of a messageboard is dealing with the questions asked a million times. GruntStyle 02-07-2004, 12:35 AM there is nothing to worry about when your fuel light comes on, most companies make it so you can go atleast another 40+ miles when the light comes on. for example i was about 30 miles from my house one day in my s10 and had NO money when my light came on i got all the way home parked and the next day went another ten miles to the bank and to the gas station with no problems. most cars will do that. westsype 02-07-2004, 01:05 AM Why waste time searching when someone can just quickly answer the question. I you don't want to answer the question then don't even bother replying. with your dumb comments trekkie. XBOXX 02-07-2004, 02:07 AM The magic answer is approx 2 gallons according to the owners manual. WOW inagine a devise that tells you all about your car and the specifications too! Somebody was smart! Mor epeople should read that handy little Book! B scionracerxb 02-07-2004, 02:49 AM I believe I remember someone posting a while back, can't remember who, that when the fuel light comes on you have about 1.5 gallons left in the tank. ya that was me!!!! I ran out of gas completely and when i put in 1.5 gallons it is at the bottom line on the gas guage....not necessarily where the light comes on tho. It does, however help u calculate mileage. So u know now that when u are on the last line...you have 1.5 gallons left or approx. 42 miles. CBSIMONSEZ 02-07-2004, 04:11 AM But what you guys arent thinking of, is all that crap that is floating around in your gas, and settling towards the bottom, you are just sucking it up into the filter all that much faster. I personally wouldnt make a habbit of doing that, running it till the fuel light came on. swtbabiboi4u 02-07-2004, 05:21 AM hard to say for me, one day i jus got out of school n hopped on the freeway and the light came on, from school to my house is about 30 miles or so somting like that... and i just kept driving fine. got to a gas station right off the exit of the freeay started to pump in some gas like a mad man, when i looked at the gas pump, i pumped in 10.83 gallons out of a 11.5 gallon tank  ... close call huh? so i guess when the fuel light comes on u got about a good 15 20 miles |
