Thats a nice kit. But if I were going to kit my tC (I'm going sleeper) I would get the touring kit and the kaminari Hood.

Well you gotta figure in installation and paint also, but it seems pretty reasonable.

wouldnt sleeper mean no kit and looks stock whil being fast?

I said "But if I were" as in I am not because I am going sleeper. But if i were going to add a kit. I'd do the touring kit with the kamnari hood.

TougetC You are one silly little man. What input did you put into this thread that aided anyone? What you said about body kits is true. and everyone knows that you get what you pay for. So what is your opinion on putting on that body kit? Geez at least try to read and put input into a thread you post in.

I'd get the body kit from the dealer, it is the nicest in my opinion. Not gawdy, and fits the car a lot better.

Agreed. It is not gaudy and though it appears expensive, from what I've read about other kits total cost, it may actually be slightly less so. It's the one I'm considering at the moment and it also seems as though the body kit market is still somewhat in its infancy, so you may want to consider holding off if you can until something really first rate comes out.

But my personal preference has always been somewhat understated. I'd prefer classy and clean any day over the alternative.

Have half the people on this thread even seen the Kaminari kit? It's not cheap, looks pretty clean and actually gives the tC a nice profile. Other than the wing, the kit is nice not full of vents, mesh and obscene designs that quite a few kits I've seen for the tC have. And if he has an oppurtunity to get the Aero package (front, sides and back) for $600, that's a good deal (almost too good) especially since the kit retails for $1400(w/o paint), I'd say go for it.

Touge does not mean dorifto. im am a happy happy gorippo non-dori dori, TougetC. and if keiichi tsuchia could see me now, he'd be screaming "one more time!!" now lets hear it for the understeer crowd!! p.s. thank god for the guy who invented the left-foot brake technique. slide on my bretheren.

I think that's a gorgeuous kit, second only to the APR widebody kit for the Celica (2000). It almost looks factory; if Toyota were turning Mitsubishi Evo-type (already fixed up) cars out of the factory.

If you can afford to do it, go for it!

How would you like to make that kit only cost you $400? I will buy your stock flint mica front bumper off you for $200 some idiot crashed into my car at school yesterday and then took off. I live in mass and am willing to come pick the bumper up. Let me know.

Where did you find it for $600?? The Kaminari kit is the ONLY one I can even stand. I'd consider that, but the carbon fiber reverse cowl hood first.

In my opinion I think that the Kaminari Kit looks like crap. It is ugly as hell. If you get a kit get that Carbon Fiber Wide Body Kit. Carbon Fiber is pimp status.

I love th kaminari kit. and the price is the best I've seen. My only thing is i'd like a slightly larger front lower scoop.
However, I think the tC stock looks really good and I dont' think it's worth it for fiberglass. If that kit was in PolyEurathane, deffinately.

i'll add from experience that a fiberglass nose on a daily driver is a bad idea. fiberglass is an amazing material, but it isn't very "forgiving." no matter how much plasticizer you have in the paint, a fiberglass nose will chip WAY easier than a urethane nose.

so, if you really like this kit (and $600 is a decent price for 4 pieces, especially if they are good quality and have all the proper mounts and fit looking "factory") and are willing to accept the paint chipping on the nose.... go for it!

oh and before someone posts about the "clear bra" which is available to prevent chipping... those are basically clear vinyl and they do work wonders. however, they are computer-cut to fit the STOCK car. there won't be a piece designed for a body kit. that means something custom and/or half-assed with generic pieces. you can pay well more than what you did for the body kit just to get the nose protected in this manner.

i can post before and after pix of my miata's vis racing nose showing it freshly painted and after 3 months of driving on relatively-clean oc freeways....

pardon my asking again but where can you find it for $600? or is it a private seller

hatchbkcivic

Yeah, I wanna know where you found it for $600 cause the best price I've found is $1050 + S&H, and that's not including the wing. And I agree about urethane being way better, but it's also WAY more expensive - is there even a urethane kit out for the tC yet?

I've seen it from 800-1300, I don't know why the price fluctuates so bad, but I don't want to buy it until I know how much it is to paint and install. That body kit is nice, it's the only good TC body kit, the OEM one is ok, but it's barely noticable, and the kaminari is noticable but not too overdone. I think it just makes the car look more like a celica, which can be a good thing or bad thing depdending on who you are.

this kit is not available for 600. if you read the all the posts then you would notice that the guy said he would buy his stock front bumper for 200. so if its 800 and he sells his stock bumper. hes only paying 600 b.c he doesnt need the stock front bumper anyway after the kit is put on

Thats a nice kit. But if I were going to kit my tC (I'm going sleeper) I would get the touring kit and the kaminari Hood.

Yea I was going to have a sleeper until I got interested into Silver Carbon Fiber hood and hatch combo...

Anyways I think its probably one of the nicest kits out at the moment and if you can get it that cheap why not b/c when you get it installed its gonna be very expensive to get it done right...
