^^ lol.... that is certainly an interesting way to put a positive spin on it.

For me personally, I like the new slightly redesigned steering wheel. As for the rest of the car... Unless Toyota/Scion gave me one for free... they can keep the rest of the car... the 2011 just doesn't exactly blow sunshine up my skirt, I'm very glad I have my 1st gen 2008 tC. So far, there are only 2 things I like about the 2nd gen 2011 tC over mine...
1. The steering wheel redesign.

2. the 6 spd manual trans. I'd love to snag one of those and retro fit it into my 08 tC.
I'm not bashing the '11 tC... some may think the new design is great, I'm just not one of them.

....and remember to take everything in life with a grain of salt, because opinions are like butts.... everybody's got one. :icon_mrgreen:

The gauge faces themselves look better, but I like the 3 pod set up in the 1G.

within 6 months of them hitting Texas ill be parting one, kids here wreck scions like its cool. ill do a DIY on interior removal lol

THUMBS UP!! I'm diggin them, the car as a whole will have to grow on me, most which I like but there are some that I'm iffy on. I want to try to make it to one of the "unveiling" events at a local dealership to check it out, even though I saw the prototype at the LA Region a couple months ago but still wasn't completely finished.

Not to sound like a ****, but under that same line of thought, why not just bump it up to 200, or Mach 12? Being that the TC's top speed is low, a gauge where more than 80% of it is actually ever even used is more useful than something ridiculous and wishful.

Try driving a Porsche and you'll see what I mean. . . a GT3's gauge goes to 200MPH (and it can get somewhat close to that), but it's near impossible to use the speedo for anything at legal speeds. There is a small digital readout, which is equally annoying, being low-set in the dash. But yeah, it's a GT3, so it's excused. A tC. . . a coupe with sporting aspirations. . . but this is just my opinion.

not exactly sure where to put this but since we're on topic of the 2nd-Gen tC...even though the quality is lightyears above the tC, this sure does resemble the tC2 (which came out first). Im digging The steering wheel and gauges Thumbs UP! Everything else no so much

i drove one at one of thier TCruise events here in charlotte...def feel the added hp and it has a pretty nice exhaust note and like most here said...all I really like abt the new car is the wheels, the steering wheel, the Alpine setup and the new seats are AWESOME

Actually it doesn't really matter what number they put as the top-end speed. The fact still remains that it's only a tC and the speed limiter will still kick in around the 130mph mark. And the reason it's there is because the engineers that designed this motor know what the max. safe top end speed is. Because if you bypass the limiter and go faster you run a serious risk of detonation which at those speeds you could easily get yourself killed.

The dash is great, just wish it had a water temp gauge :(. Everything otherwise is laid out great. The steering wheel controls are almost useless as the radio is so close to make the changes yourself. But the layout is perfect and the dash textures are very relaxing.

First one to make a gauge pod that looks factory for this car so I can put a temp gauge in will win my business!

I like them and the steering wheel. the seats look more sporty and supportive also. But other than than that and the 6spd its a Big Bleh on the tC2. Is it just me or is it wierd to say tC2?

I think digital < the regular needle, so I am glad they kept it that way.

I like the look of the interior but during the test drive I felt the steering wheel was a bit too big and it also felt really cheap.

yup no coolant gauge. could attach a scan gauge to it for a digital read out of water temp.. sad that they went cheap and didn't give a coolant/water temp gauge.

the coolant light is just like the light in the new 2011 xB's

i just sat in the 2gen tC today. It looks a lot better in person and the interior is ok. Feels smaller even though the measurements are almost the same. Can't wait to test drive one on wed.

that steering wheel is huge. Its like 1/3 thicker than the 1st gen

But its the same size as a new Civic. I just came out of a 2006 Civic LX and it is really no different in thickness. Mind you the +7 degrees of caster in the Civic give it a really nice steering feel...

Its actually nicer then most interiors out there. You have to spend some time in it before being extremely critical I find. I had the same comments before owning one and being in it a lot.

I like the dash redesign, the only thing that I thought was odd was the fact that the three air vents (one on the left, two in the center), which look good, are different than the one on the passenger side. The passenger side is the round vent with twisting motion like in the xB2. Why not keep the rectangular grill like the other three. Looks out of place.

yea I agree on the vents...I was like wtf......................................That looked so out of place. Kinda like 3 hot girls and a fat chick on the right.

Well, I supposed big girls need lovin too. So I will tolerate her as long as she doesn't try to become the fifth wheel while I'm chillin with the three hot girls... This is way inapropriate. I mean, its not really three hot chicks, right?

I know that the HVAC controls are the same in the 2011 xB. My wife has one. I'm not a bog fan of it mainly because with my 07 tC, I had so many fan control speeds. Now it's downgraded to only 4 speeds.

I like the new look but functionality I guess has suffered on some aspects.

That is somethin i do like about the tC1 is the many A/C speeds.

I can tell you at the end of the week about the MPG readings because I am waiting for mine to arrive at the dealer. But I do remember from the test drive seeing the green eco light. It came on after I would start to plane out my speed but was not on when i would take off from a stop.

I'll be working on the tC2 dash soon....
Hopefully I can make the template also for the custom gauge face... =)

But to keep the cost low, manual is so much cheaper than all digital climate control..

I really like the tc2 wheel. specially for a tall guy my legs always hit the bottom of the wheel. Cant wait to see some salvaged cars for parting out. ill be on the with the quickness

It does look similiar to the sonata gauges! I think its said that they got rid of the auto up/down functions on the windows in the new tC. Like its really that hard to do. I actually think that should be standard in all cars.

And don't forget the auto off function for the headlights that is non existant now. Gonna go back to the dealer and rip the module out to put it in the tC2

I just ordered a set of HID's for the project tC2, which is the only reason why I am ok with no auto-off on the headlights... the window up/down though is upsetting to me...

I was so amazed when i found out about the auto up/down windows when i bought my tC. Funny how lil things are so amusing and so upsetting when we dont get them.

I made fun of my wife when she got her 2011 xB. I teased that I could just press and forget while she had to hold down the buttons for the passenger side and to roll up in her POS... oh how the tables have turned.

I cant live without auto up/down windows

One way is to get windows module along with the alarm system...

The steering wheel makes up for it all.

I had a chance to take apart the 2011 tC today!!
LED swap is no problem... also custom gauge face is good to go..
I didn't get to make the template, but I'll be digitizing the stock gauge face in about week or two...

i think the new tc looks pretty nice

I think the new front guages look better than the previos models. However the middle consol for the 2011 models is to plain compared to older models. I really like the GTI inspired steering wheels!

The steering wheel does feel pretty awesome to drive with.. I test drove it a couple weeks ago and placed my order.. Picking it up on Saturday.
